I wasn't gonna post it till tomorrow night but I thought to myself what the hell, let's just waste my sleeping hours and upload this at 2:30 AM.

Zach's POV:

I woke up later that day around noon.

As I was brushing my teeth, I checked my neck in the mirror. It was still badly bruised, but at least it was a less swollen and slightly lighter color than it was when I went to sleep.

I was hungry, but I couldn't go downstairs since I didn't know how to tell my parents about Jack or last night yet. I hope they went to work already.

I mean, they seem to really like the guy, and I can't deny the fact he's a great baker.

But the guy is also a complete psycho.

I checked my phone to see if Brian has called me yet. 

He promised he will.

There were a lot of missed calls, but they weren't from Brian. They were from Jack.

I ignored them and called Brian instead.

He answered after five rings.

"H-hello?" he was mumbling.

"did I wake you up? I'm sorry, I shouldn't call you this early" I cursed myself in silence.

"Mmm... what time it is?"

"like... 12:47 AM"

He sighed.

"you know what? I'm gonna call you later" I said.

"wait! It's fine... it's not early at all" he said.

"did your parents talked to you already?" I asked.

"as soon as the doctor called, my mom busted into my room at like 7 AM"

"sounds fun... what did you tell her?"

"that I helped a friend out"

My heart dropped.

"so, do you want to come over or something?" he asked.

"Y-yes!" I tried to sound not so over-enthusiastic, but probably failed.

"ok then, you can come over" he replied.
