Thea is glad that Slam Dunk isn't long and Awsten is getting home soon. She's ready to finally get to talking about what happened, after he has some rest and time to readjust.

She's hoping they're on the same page with this, reminding herself that this is Awsten and he isn't the type of person who's going to just leave now that they've had sex. He wouldn't do that to her. He's better than that.

She waits for him at the airport, a mix of excitement and nervousness running through her. When passengers start coming out, she looks around until a familiar green head of hair pops into view.

She heads towards him and, when he sees her, he gravitates towards her like it's the most natural thing in the world. He drops his carry-on bag and wraps his arms around her tightly, knowing that if he goes through with what he's been considering, there won't be many more chances to hug her. She returns the hug just as tightly, having missed the feeling of his arms around her.

They pull away and are quiet for a moment before Thea speaks up, feeling oddly shy.

"I missed you," she tells him hesitantly, hating that things feel so awkward right now.

"I missed you too," Awsten replies, though the words sound hallowed out and pained. Thea quickly picks up on it, a worried frown forming on her face.

"Are you okay?" she inquires, trying to figure out what could have upset him.

"Yeah," he lies, his tone a little snappy, "of course. Just tired. Jet lag, y'know?"

"Yeah, right of course, sorry," she apologizes, a little taken aback by the unexpected snap. "Let's get you home then so you can get some rest."

Awsten pauses, guilt eating away at him.

"Thea, wait," he stops her, "I, uh...I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to come out like that."

"It's okay," she assures him, "I get it; you just got home. You should get some rest. Let's get you back to your place so you can sleep."

Awsten nods, frowning when she takes his bag and carries it for him.

"You don't have to carry that," he mumbles, "I can do it."

"Don't worry about it," Thea dismisses, "I got it."

They get his other bag, which Thea also carries for him, and head to the car. The ride is quiet and Thea finds herself scared to end the silence. Things seem off and she's not sure if it can all be chalked up to his tiredness from changing timezones. He seems on edge and she doesn't know how to help him. They get back to his apartment and Thea parks the car, hesitating a moment before speaking.

"I brought Jet home before I picked you up so...she's waiting inside for you," Thea tells him, "do you want help taking your bags up?"

"I got it," he mutters before giving a little sigh. "Stay a while? Please?"

"Yeah," she agrees to it easily. He doesn't let her take his bags this time, already feeling horrible for asking her to stay. They head up to his apartment and Jet paws at Awsten's leg as soon as he's coming inside, as if she can already tell something is off.
