"Welcome to your new studio."
Seokjin keeps his hands in his pockets as he follows the co-captains further inside. This place is a lot bigger in size compared to his old one and it also looks quite new. There are two practice rooms in the one building and he can hear another class practicing in the other room.
"Guys!" the deep-voiced one shouts as he stands on the resting bench. "Say hello to our newest dancer. His name is..."
The guy pauses when he realises he still doesn't know the new dancer's name even though they caught a flight together that was approximately an hour long.
Realising why the co-captain paused, Seokjin clears his throat and introduces himself as he says, "Hi... My name is Seokjin, but you can call me Jin."
"Right! His name is Jin! He was the lead dancer of the winning regionals team at the South regionals competition so everyone, show me a clap of hands for our new team member!" the deep-voiced guy shouts enthusiastically, his voice cracking at some parts when he shouts a bit too loud.
The troupe members start clapping, cheering, and whistling as they greet their newest teammate. They introduce themselves and while they're doing that, the co-captains decide to speak with their studio head. They need to know if she's happy with their decision.
"So... What do you think of him?" Taehyung asks his mentor.
"I saw the performance on TV and I think you guys have finally learned how to make good decisions. I'm glad I don't have to make you two do 100 pushups like last time," Miss Singh says with a playful smile.
Taehyung and Yoongi wince at the painful memory of having to do 100 pushups after an exhausting rehearsal because they got into a petty argument.
"We've got 9 dancers so we're qualified for nationals. Right, Miss Singh?" Yoongi asks.
"Yes, we are. But we should have an extra dancer in case what happened at regionals, happens at nationals. If it wasn't for my daughter stepping in, we wouldn't have been able to perform," Miss Singh says.
Taehyung and Yoongi nod in agreement.
"We have enough dancers so don't stress about it. I can get it sorted myself. You guys should help Jin settle in because we're going to hold auditions tomorrow to decide who's in which dance. And I heard you wanted to do the duet with him, Taehyung? If that's the case, you have to prove to me that you deserve it. I'm not just going to give it to you because you want it. You have to work for the dances like everyone else but if no one auditions for the duet like last time, I'm happy for you and Jin to take it," Miss Singh says.
Taehyung gives Yoongi a glare because Yoongi's the only person who knows that Taehyung wants to do the duet with Seokjin.
"Now off you go. And tell Jin that I'd like to talk to him," Miss Singh requests.
Taehyung and Yoongi walk out of Miss Singh's office and inform Seokjin that the studio head is expecting him. Nervously, Seokjin makes his way towards Miss Singh's office. He's hoping she won't look down on him like his former studio head did.
"Hello, Miss Singh," Seokjin greets the lady with a soft voice.
Miss Singh smiles and says, "Hi, Jin. It's great to finally meet you. I've heard a lot about you and I've seen your performance with your old troupe. You were outstanding."
