Tyler Fulekin wakes up in a so-called bed. It's a torn up mattress with broken, rusty, thirty-year-old springs. It's all he's got right now. His house is on the verge of becoming mere ashes, and since he's quite possibly the only human life form within a mile radius,he gets attacked constantly by undead killers.
The human race itself is on the verge of being known as "endangered", which is a name the humans gave themself.
Tyler himself has hunkered down in the wreck he calls his home. There's no point in looking for other people that are actually intelligent, because every time he'd go outside, every intoxicated non-human close to him would try to take his life.
Everyday living for Tyler has been a constant struggle, and over time he's lost his social skills, and now he's just an insecure, "trust nobody" kind of person who, if the day ever comes, would tell himself he's dreaming if he saw another conscious human. The last time he saw a human, they got converted to the undead right on the spot, and he had to kill him.
Speaking of weapons, Tyler's fully stocked. Right when the toxic disease broke out, he went ham on the weapons. Because the people running the gun store were taken by Pre-Death, Tyler basically had free guns. Exact same with the nearest grocery store. It's almost all out of stock because of the free stuff Tyler hoarded.
Tyler's life has exactly zero entertainment. It's dull and empty, filled with eating, working out, fighting off zombies, and sleeping. Every once in a while he gets clean water from the store. All the "filtered" water in his house has made him sick a couple times. And surprisingly enough, he hasn't died. Yet.
The last time he saw a human was around three months ago, when he last saw his parents. In fact, his parents were asleep as undead took over the house, and he had to kill all of them. Shortly after that, his brother went missing, and now Tyler has no hope of gaining him back.
Zombies themselves are a resemblance of the person who was taken. Once the human gets bitten, there begins a dark green tint that flows throughout the veins, arteries, and capillaries. Once it reaches the heart, instead of dying, it kind of converts the blood into zombie blood. But, this doesn't happen if a zombie bite doesn't reach a vein. Once the blood gets converted, the skin gets turned to green all around the body, and you become a zombie. Once the zombification is close to complete, the person grows a little bit, growing up to a foot taller, and their muscles grow profusely, mostly causing a tear in their clothes. Their muscles, however, don't actually get put to good use. When they get zombified, their brains get corrupted and damaged. Green zombie blood just isn't good for the brain, so it becomes non-functional. The only things zombies know is that they want to take over other humans. If a human looks at one zombie at any time, that zombie is drawn toward them, which results in other zombies being drawn towards them. The moral of the story is:
Just please, Don't Look At Them.

A/N: hey I know it's only around 500 words long, and it's very short, but I think this a good intro. This means I'm working on another story, yes. I'm kind of excited for this story. I have good intentions.
