Trust me bitch, I'm not.
"Why did you hurt me?" I said through gritted teeth.
She placed her hands flat on top of her desk and smirked, "Because if you die, then I get all the money," she said as she put emphasis on 'all.'
I scoffed at her and crossed my arms over my own chest, "So why not kill me right away huh? Why make my death slow?" I challenged.
She shrugged her shoulders, "We thought we'd break you enough to kill yourself. But that fucking boy-"
"HE'S NOT A FUCKING BOY. HE'S A MAN. A MAN WHO DIDN'T FALL FOR YOUR ACT AND TOOK ME IN. A MAN WHO GAVE ME BACK MY FUCKING STRENGTH AND BROUGHT ME BACK TO WHO I AM. A MAN THAT I FUCKING LOVE," I boomed.
My heart skipped a beat at the word I used to express my feelings for him. If you told me five months ago that I'd meet a guy who I'll admit that I love, I wouldve laughed in your face. But here I am, telling the one person I despise most in this world my feelings for the man who I... who I... love.
She scoffed and arched an eyebrow at me, "Love? Oh April, don't you know that you're too much of a slut to be loved? That whores don't get love, but instead paid?" She laughed humorlessly.
I steadied my breathing and closed my eyes to take away the frustration. I bit my lip to take away the anger that rushed to my fists and prevented me from jumping over this fucking desk and punching her senseless. This witch needed a lesson, and she was going to be taught one very soon.
"You know, I'm glad I killed your father before he could see the way you turned out."
My eyes shot open once those words left her mouth. My fists unclenched themselves and instead, my arms fell weakly to my sides. I felt my body about to give out on me but I stood my ground, I wasn't going to show her weakness.
"I'll be back fit fighter, see you later!"
"Wait! Where are you going?" I asked worriedly as I stopped my dad from leaving my room.
"Getting something for Merideth, I'll be back in a giffy-"
"No daddy don't go. Please, I have a bad feeling about this. Just stay home, she can get it herself," I said softly.
He walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my neck. I slithered my arms around his back and held him tightly to me. Taking in his peppermint smell that I always loved.
"Don't worry fit fighter, I won't be long," he walked out of my room but turned one last time before he left, "I love you April."
The feeling in my stomach grew stronger but I pushed it down, "I love you too, bye daddy."
Those were his last words to me before he got into that car crash. Those were his last words before my world fell apart and everything in me began to hollow. I couldn't feel my heart beating, I couldn't feel anything when the hospital had called me. The only thing I focussed on was making sure he was okay, but I ended up dying with him that night.
