Evie and Rowan were... killed?
No...
None of the students were phased by the news. After all, they were just lowly weaklings.
But Seraphina McNamara |a/n yes I love heathers| thought differently.
"WHOEVER KILLED THEM IS A HORRIBLE PERSON!" She screamed, a bit too loud. Tears rolled down her peachy cheeks.
Vaughn's thoughts
Wellston High School Auditorium, 8:24 AM
Oh no. She's going to say something to set off John.
"WHO KILLED THEM?! I'LL RETURN THE FAVOR TO THAT TYRANT!"
Here it comes!
It's too late.
"My best friends... dead... that murderer... I will get revenge on them. They're... they're a monster." Seraphina sobs with defeat.
The damage has been dealt.
John's thoughts

"My best friends are... dead... that murderer... I will get revenge on them."
Eh? What's this feeling... guilt?
I didn't know it'd make Sera cry.
Well all that matters is that she doesn't know it was me.
Everything's okay!
Hah! That voice was wrong.
There isn't any backlash.
"They're... they're a monster."
No.
No.
NO!
WHY CAN NOTHING EVER GO MY WAY! ALL OF THEM THINK I'M A FILTHY MONSTER! THE TWO PEOPLE I CARED ABOUT... CALLING ME THAT WORD...
Monster.
—flashback—
As John dealt the final blow to Claire, she muttered one horrid word to him.
"Monster."
Seraphina's face faded into Claire's.
"John why don't you get it? You're the liar. You're the one who betrays people. Not telling me you had an ability? Killing the only people I loved?" Seraphina's voice echoed in John's head.
"You tyrant. Hypocrite. Liar. Backstabbing idiot. Evil b*itch. Monster."
That word stuck out like a sore thumb.
Why?
Why me?
—flashback end—
John stood up, teary eyed.
"I... I gotta go." He ran out of the auditorium.
Vaughn's thoughts
Wellston High School Auditorium, 8:25 AM
As soon as John ran, everybody was a bit confused.
"Why'd he run?"
"Why was he crying?"
"Why did Seraphina care so much?"
Vaughn had a look of shock, expectance, disappointment, horror and relief on his face.
So that was only a bit of John's weaknesses coming back to him. A bit of Seraphina and a bit of Claire.
Time to expose the Claire weakness a lot more.
Even after all he's done...
This plan makes me...
Pity John.
"Well... time for the next news."
The students seemed excited.
"We will be holding a nation-wide Ability Festival in a few days! There are posters with information pinned around the school. You'll have the rest of the day as a free period. Check out the papers. You're now dismissed."
I should check on John.

Ability Gauge-
A booth will be set up to determine your ability level, it's stats, and new ways to use it
Fight For Champion-
Students will 1v1 a random student from a different school, and whoever wins that match will continue fighting until the final two fight, and the winner is declared the NATIONAL ABILITY CHAMPION! Winner will receive a cash prize.
Costume Contest-
Come to the event dressed up as something that describes your ability and personality, and make sure it covers up your identity. There will be a vote on most scary, cute, detailed, pretty, etc. costumes. Winners will receive a cash prize.
And that's only where the fun begins!
