Hey guys, hope you've enjoyed my story so far :D
soo here's chapter 2:
2. RISE AND SHINE
Grrr. I am so not a morning person. Honestly if I get woken up by Lily stomping around the house one more time I am going to strangle her. She is so annoying. And to think we are actually related just makes me feel sick sometimes. To make matters even worse: it's the first day back at school. Yay. By the way, I was using complete sarcasm there. I swear, almost all the teachers hate me my friends (excluding April. Goody too shoes.). The only teachers that doesn't hate us are the ones who haven't met us yet, but they should have been warned already. Oh yes. And how could I forget good old Mr. Brown. He is probably the only one who absolutely loves us. He's a pretty old man, but what can I say, he knows us too well. He made a deal with us. As long as we get our work done, he will ignore us. As in, he won't ask us questions, he won't tell us to shut up and so on.
Oh crap! Where did I put my Ipod? I bet you anything Lily took it.
"Lily! Give me back my Ipod!" I yelled across the hallway. But I don't see the point. I know she's just going to ignore me. I stomped up to her room only to find that she had already left. That Bitch! I reckon the only reason she lives is to annoy me. It's war. I have to get even with her. I have had it.
While I was walking up to school I was just thinking. The perfect time to get back at her is this weekend, but unless I actually know what I'm going to do, it's going to be a suicide mission instead.
Shit! The bell just went. I can't be late again. I started sprinting to the school and opened my bag to see what room I'm in. Where on earth did I put it? With that I sprinted to the office to ask. As usual though, the office ladies ignore me and keep gossiping about the new 'hot' teacher.
"Aahchoo!" That ought to do it.
"Oh. Sorry Mia, I didn't see you there. How can I help you?" then she turned to look at her friends and giggled.
I was just about to tell her 'Maybe if you opened your eyes and stopped quacking you'd see me.' But I thought better of it since I'm already late.
"I was just wondering where my new homeroom is?" I asked as politely as I could.
"You're not very organised this morning are you Mia?" she sighed and checked her laptop. "When was she?" I heard the other office lady whisper.
"You should be in room S14," she said and waved me off.
I didn't even bother saying thanks; I just grabbed my stuff and headed toward my home room.
As soon as I walked through the door every head in the class turned to look at me.
"Nice of you to join us Mia," said Miss Walker in a disapproving tone.
There was no point in explaining. I just headed straight to April and the others.
"Yes. Nice of you to join us Mia," Dave tried to imitate her voice.
"Hey, it's not my fault Lily decided to turn her Bitch Switch on this morning," I hissed back at him.
"Haha, she playing' tricks on ya again?" Nick asked, already knowing what my answer would be.
"Guys, seriously! This is just getting out of control and that's actually something I wanted to talk to you guys about. Well, I promised that I would babysit Lily and my cousins this weekend..." I didn't even get to finish and they all started cracking up laughing at me. One of their bestest friends was going to be facing Lily and they were laughing???
"What did he offer you this time to get you to do it?" Ahhh...And I call these people friends. They just went on and on like that up until recess.
Lunch time, finally. It's like this day took ages. And it's not even over yet.
We went and sat up at our usual spot up near the oval. Mitch and Dave were about to go play footy but Nick decided to tell us the 'good' news.
"We are officially going to have our first gig this Friday guys!" gosh, I wish I could be as enthusiastic as he is.
Our reactions were more along the lines of staring at him, thinking oh my god.
"Listen man, we haven't had a practice in over a week, are you sure? I mean, I don't even think I've heard us play a full song before." Dave complained.
"Well I think it's a great idea babe," Ella gave him a kiss on the cheek.
Ella and April went off to walk around the oval and Nick and Mitch went to play footy, leaving me by myself with Dave eating our lunch.
"We really need to get practicing," I said to break the silence. I always seem to feel awkward around Dave. He just makes me feel awkward. I have to admit, I've always had a little crush on him, but I never really got to know him as much so, you know, the feelings just sort of stayed there.
"Yer. We need to choose songs, our positions, it's really short notice. We should have a practice today after school too. We need all the practice we can get," and he laughed after that. "Hey Ella, you free after school?"
"No, sorry guys. Mum's throwing a party and she wants me to help out," she yelled from across the oval.
"Nick and I can't come either, sorry guys. We have swimming training," sighed April.
"Well I guess Mia and I could have like a small practice together. You know, work out some songs we could play. What do you think?" Dave said.
"Yer, I guess. Mum's going to get home late so it should be fine with dad. He owes me anyway," I sighed, remembering what's waiting for me.
"So it's settled. But we are definitely having a practice tomorrow, no excuses." said Nick.
"Well if you guys are picking songs then I am definitely coming, I mean after all, I am the manager," Mitch said just as the bell went.
After school everyone went home and Dave and I started heading over to my place. Mitch said he'd come by a bit later.
On the way to my place Dave and I didn't really talk that much, just small talk. I never really noticed that he has really pretty eyes. They are a really nice green colour and it compliments his dark hair too.
We reached my house after a while and headed straight to the garage.
"Should we wait for Mitch before we start picking songs?" I asked.
"Yer, alright. I'll just start tuning up my guitar."
All of a sudden, he started playing some Steve Vai. He is my favourite guitarist.
"Wow, I never noticed you could play so well," I said while walking over to him.
"That's 'cause we never really play," he said laughing.
"Can you teach me how to play a little?" I've always wanted to learn to play the guitar, but I never really had the time for a second instrument.
"Yeah, sure. Come sit next to me, I'll show you some basic chords." I went and sat beside him.
He handed me his guitar and placed my fingers in different positions, telling me the name of the chords. His hands were so soft for a guy. Then all of a sudden our eyes met.
"Hey guys!" Mitch said walking into the garage. I immediately snapped out of it and jumped up to give him a hug as if his presence was the most exciting thing in the world.
