I started working on this novel some time around September 2017. I remember I had a thought that went a little bit like this, 'Wouldn't it be funny if there was this cliché, creepy ritual in the forest, to wake up some great leader of ages past - except then they actually woke up the wrong guy?'

My goal was also to write a story about a group of gay, lesbian, trans, and bisexual friends who all hang out together, to better represent the LGBT+ community in fiction. Instead of the more common straight group with one token gay friend that we often see in books, TV, and movies. Not saying there's anything wrong with that, but I aimed for something different.

It was quite the journey to get here, almost two years later, and mark it as a completed work on Wattpad. And it wouldn't have been the same without some pretty amazing people.

Special thanks to slyeagle and evelynhail for reading, voting, and commenting on every chapter, and overall supporting the project, giving it a lot of love, and some much appreciated honest feedback.

Thank you NinkiieLayla_tdmagiclightIvaNeedsHolyWaterGirlinthatdressRickRed99, and wizard_milk, for all your support.

And thank you LittleBird317urnothlikemeslyeagleLee_Henrymrbunnyban, and rhymeswithfry, for being my critique partners in our book club Queer Fiction.

To everyone else who read this crazy, probably too long story, thank you! I hope you had fun reading it. Do consider leaving me a comment, I'd love to hear from you.
