"What did you and Elijah do last night?" Amie asks.
"We just hung out and listened to music."
"So you actually interacted?" She asks.
"Yeah, we went to the beach and just hung out before we just kinda listened to his favorites playlist on spotify while looking at the stars." I shrug.
"YN... that sounds like- dont take offence to me saying this, I know you're sensitive- a date." Sub butts into the conversation.
"What? No! Ew! No no no!"
"Then why does it sound like a date?" Amie asks.
"Dude, we were just bored and so we went to the beach! Thats all!"
"Let me guess, you walked on the beach as the sun set and then you stared at the stars!" Amie says in an airy voice, pretending to swoon. I just kinda pursed my lips and said nothing as I realized, yeah, that's exactly what we did. To a T.
"Wait!" Sub exclaims, "You did didnt you!"
"You worded it so that it sounded like a date!" I turn to Amie.
"Did not! You explain it then."
"We were bored so we went to the beach when it happened to be sunset, I was feeling lazy and didnt want to skate back at the moment and so we stayed and listened to music before going back home."
"That's a bit wordy but okay." Sub rolls his eyes playfully, crossing his arms.
"It was platonic if anything at all!"
"Calm- calm down!" Amie laughs.
"Yeah, man, what the frick?" Sub furrows his eyebrows as he chuckles.
"Whatever." I hufflepuff, crossing my arms.

I knocked on the New York City apartment I grew up in. My little brother, Reese, opened the door before jumping into my arms.
"YN! You're back from school!" He laughs.
"And Im gonna be here all summer." I grin, kneeling down to the four-year-olds height, ruffling his hair. He grinned ear to ear before running off and coming back with my mom and dad who each gave me big hugs, welcoming me home.

I said bye to my parents reminding them I'd be back by the end of the weekend because I was going to Massachusetts to visit Amie.
I pulled up in her driveway with my motor bike, hoping off and setting my helmet on the handlebars. (I dont know why but felt like the readers character had to have some element- if not more elements- of bada*s so, Sis, you out here with a motorcycle that you keep in NYC for the school year or somn' but you a bada*s with a sick motor bike so you go and be a bad b*tch, making Elijah- a softie- fall for you because sis you a bad b*tch and a softie at the same time. A double threat. Elijah's not gonna know what hit him.)
I knocked on the door of Amie's house and she answered in a few moments.
"Aye!" I smile as we did out little handshake.
"Okay, I've got something planned for this weekend but the twins are coming along." She explains. I shrug nonchalantly, not really caring all that much.
"Cool."
"E-Elijah is too."
"I dont hate him anymore, I'm just constantly slightly paranoid and some select times I'm aggressively annoyed." I explain, hitching my backpack of stuff up higher onto my shoulders. Amie nods and grabs my arms, dragging me to the living room where the twins were talking.
"Oh. Hey." Ethan waves.
"Sup." Elijah nods.
"So, We're going camping." Amie does jazzhands.
"What!? I sit at home and play roblox for ungodly hours and you're asking me- a loser- to live off the land?" Elijah exclaims in a silly voice, making me laugh under my breath.
"Elijah and I have gone camping two times, okay, one of which was in the woods of our backyard." Ethan protests, "Then there was the time before we went back to California last summer where you dragged me along with you!"
"I have never been camping so I'm gonna die." I purse my lips and stare at the wall, and set my hands on my hips in a sarcastic fashion.
"Not even once?" Ethan asks.
"Yeah, theres like zero places to camp where I'm from."
"Where are you from?" Elijah asks, leaning forwards in his seat.
"Queens. Ive lived in New York City my entire life."
"Well the more you know." Ethan turns to Elijah.
"We are going to go camping. Plus this time it'll be on a bigger site on a spot I have reserved on a lake shore." Amie talks to Ethan a little more than Elijah and I.
"Fine." Ethan sighs, in a defeated tone.
"If I die, I'm suing."
"I mean," Elijah shrugs animatedly, letting his wrists go limp, making the action funnier than it should have been, "That's fair."
"Okay, sue me from beyond the grave." Amie rolls her eyes in a joking manner
"Oh, I will."
Everybody had gathered the camping stuff and put it in the back of Amie's car which Ethan, Elijah and Her were gonna ride in while I rode my motor bike to the campsite.
Once we got there we had set up the two tents and just kinda set our stuff around the spot.
"Okay, so sleeping arrangements, Ethan and I in that tent," Amie points to the slightly smaller tent, "and you two in that one." She points to the other. I let out a sigh.
"Fine."
***
I woke up after a surprisingly nice sleep exept- get this- Elijah was no more than a foot away and his arm was sprawled out across my back. I shimmied out from under his arm before picking up a book and reading for a while.
***
I sat on a rock in the middle of the lake as a watched the twins splash each other and suck while Amie said that she'd join later after lunch. ANYWAYS,
The twins were splashing beneath me as I peacefully sat in my rock. My nice lil rock.
"Dont be a chump! Come down here!" Elijah laughs.
"No!" I laugh, throwing a pebble at him.
"You leave me no choice." He deviously smiles before grabbing my hand and dragging me into the water. A classic Elijah move, really.
***
I laid in my room, staring at the ceiling, tapping my foot to "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac. With nothing to do on the rainy day I stayed there all day, listening to music.
