Melt My Frozen Heart - 2

I took a big breath as I stepped off the plane. Finally, after four hours flying over nothing but they ocean, I was finally on ground again. I looked around for my godmother, then mentally smacked myself in the forehead. How will I know what she looks like? I never did see a picture of her before, even though I probably should have...

Hey! Stop laughing at me. I'm just...tired is all.

I shook my head as I thought i heard a voice call out my name. Must be my imagination.

Wait, no its not. There it is again. I looked around and saw a little boy jumping up and down, waving his arms which held a big sign with my name on it. The poor boy, who didn't look much older than 6, was frantically looking around, as if he didn't know what he was looking for.

Another mental slap to the forehead. Of course he wouldn't know what I looked like either. I slowly made my way to the boy, already weary of his hyperactive body.

"Er, Hi there." I said to the boy, biting my lip as he looked at me.

He stared at me for a bit before he opened his mouth. "Are you Rose-A-Lind?" he asked, putting emphasis on the "A" in my name.

"Yup!" I said, smiling while holding up the peace sign. The boy just laughed. He's too cute. "What's your name?"

"I'm Alex."

I nodded at him, the smile never leaving my face. I then started thinking. Why was he here by himself? shouldn't he be with his mom or dad?

"Come on, grandma's waiting for us."

Grandma?

I followed him to go meet his grandmother.

"And here's your room," Alex's grandmother, Susie, said, opening the door to one of the rooms. It was an okay room. It was square with white walls, a full-size bed pushed to the far corner with a desk pushed on the other side of the room. The closet was a perfect size for me though. Not too big, yet definitely not too small. It wasn't a walk in closet or anything. It was just...normal.

I turned to her and cautiously gave her a hug.

"Thank you so much, Susie." I had found out that Susie is my godmother and she insisted I called her Susie, saying in a joking manner that she would ignore me if I use any other name.

I released her from my hug and looked up at her. "Can I go walk around for a bit?"

She laughed. "Sure. Just be back in time for dinner."

I nodded my head before I took my ipod, phone, and wallet from my desk, stuffing them into my pocket before walking out the door.
