Thursday, Game Day
Saint Smith
Stretching my arms, I dismissed the thoughts of the pressure being the visitor team this time around. My mom sat in the seats behind me with Cassie's. The game ain't even start yet and they were already screaming and cheering us on. I loved the support. Especially when I needed it at the moment.

I heard this school was low key good. It still ain't worry me though. But I wasn't gone get cocky like I could beat them at the drop of a hat. I was still on my humble shit.

I looked down at my sneakers, making sure they were secured. Looking around the court, I watched as people entered the gym, waiting for the game to start.

Standing there, all of a sudden I felt someone wrap their arms around my waist. Wriggling out of their grasp and turning around, I realized it was Cassie.

"Good luck boo." She smiled, walking away.

I gave her a smirk, watching as she walked back to her squad. Then, the game started. They introduced the home team first of course and then us being the visitor.

The national anthem was sang and before I could blink, the ball was tossed in the air by the ref. Catching it, one of the guys on my team passed it to me. I tossed it back to him to throw the opposing team off, then he passed it back to me. Dribbling it down the court, I made the first hoop of the game.

You could hear the crowd from our school cheer. The cheerleaders chanted our names, encouraging us and hyping us up. I ain't really pay attention cause it would only distract me. I appreciated it though.

The entire game was going smoothly, for my team at least. We scored a couple points here and there but we were still in the lead. There was about 10 seconds on the clock before the game continued. I downed the rest of my Gatorade, getting my head back in the game.

The buzzer went off and the game started back up again. My team ran our last play. The ball was passed around in a confusing ass circle, then it was finally passed to me.

I dribbled the ball around the court, crossing niggas, throwing the ball behind people heads and catching it with my hand, just being extra to give niggas a show. And of course the crowd loved it.

Dribbling it straight down the court, I made a half court shot. I anxiously waited for the ball to go in. I looked down for a split second. As soon as I did, the crowd went wild. The ball hit the ground and my team mates ran towards me.

"You did that shit again nigga!" One of my teammates hollered, holding his hand up for a high five.

"I made it?!" I asked in excitement.

"Hell yeah!" I heard from behind me. I felt a pat on my back. I turned around only to see it was my coach.

He held his arms out for a hug. I gave it to him pulling back.

"And another 'W' for Oakfield high!" Our school representative announcer, announced. The crowd cheered for us. Even the opposing team couldn't even front like we wasn't good.

"You never seize to amaze me kid." He chuckled, walking away. I watched as everyone exited the gym.

After having everyone congratulate me, I collected my things from the benches where we sat out. Then I felt my phone vibrate from inside my gym bag. Unzipping the bag, I pulled out my phone that was faced down.

Turning it right side up, I seen that Cassie had texted me.

Cass🌧💙
