Chapter 5

Taehyung's POV

The sun peaked through the sheer curtains and kissed my face, I peeked through sleepy eyelids and found an unpleasant Jungkook staring at me. I blinked a few times and sat up to look at him better, his cold stare was really something but I was getting used to it. "Can I help you with something?" I yawned "I don't know what your up to and honestly I don't trust you. You may have everyone else fooled but not me. I'm going to find out what your hiding and then I'm going to make sure you stay far away from y/n. She's been through enough, I don't need you and your bullshit messing her up even more"

I watched him storm out of our shared room a bit confused. What did he mean by that?
Y/n seemed more and more interesting to me as the days passed and her kindness was really making me feel a certain way. She kept wanting to help me or protect me, it was a nice feeling but I wasn't sure why she felt the need to...did she know who I was? Or who my family was?
I was pulled from my thoughts when I heard the roommates walking down the hall and into the living room. It sounded like everyone was off once again, Jungkook went to work as did Jimin which meant only y/n would be here.

She didn't work or go to school which had me a bit curious as to how she manages to live here. It was a nice apartment building and there was no way that Jimin and Jungkook's salary could make up the rent for this place, then again maybe they could? I really didn't know much about the area. Speaking of, rent was due tomorrow. I pulled out my wallet and counted what money I had left, it was literally just enough to cover my share. I laughed a little thinking about how I had no clue what the value of anything really was. Money had never been an issue for me and I never really thought about it until I decided to run away. Clearly I had underestimated the cost of things and took way to little with me.
I yawned once more and got up, I grabbed the money off my bed and went out into the hall. I headed towards y/n's room and knocked, the door pushed open slightly so I poked my head inside.
"Y/n?" I said looking around, she poked her head out from the bathroom door and smiled "Yes?" I smiled and looked down at my feet she was naked, she had just a towel wrapped around her tiny frame. "I have my rent, I just wanted to give it to you now so I don't forget" I said glancing back up at her "That's fine, you can just leave it on my dresser. Oh by the way your going out with me this morning and we are going to have a serious talk" her voice seemed playful even though her face was trying to be serious, I raised my brow at her and stepped into her room to put the money on the dresser like she asked. Her playful eyes watched me closely before chewed at her bottom lip, I glanced down and noticed I was only in my underwear.
My cheeks turned red as my hands quickly covered the goods "Sorry" I mumbled "I uh don't really have pajamas...we forgot to get some so it's on the list" she laughed a little and looked at her toes, I looked to and noticed how tiny they were. How on earth did she walk on those without falling all the time. "I see" she said "Well I won't be long so go and get ready" I smiled in response and quickly headed out of her room and into the hall closing her door behind me.

"You drive" I looked over at y/n surprised at her words as she tossed me the keys. I stumbled to catch them as she got in the car. I opened the door and got in the drivers seat, I had only driven two times in my whole life. "Come on what are you waiting for?" I started the car and watched as she messed with the gps. "Um I don't have a license" she shrugged as if it wasn't illegal to drive without one "I literally can't drive y/n" I confessed looking down at my lap, to embarrassed to meet her gaze. She laughed lightly "Ah I see, well move your tush and let me drive" I awkwardly got out of the car as she hopped over the center console and got in the drivers seat.
I settled in my seat and we were off, I had no idea where we were going I was just happy she bought food for the ride. I stuffed my face with some pastries as we left the city.
"Where are we going?" I asked a bit confused, she smiled sweetly and sped up. The day was still young so the sun was shining brightly, she wore a form fitting shirt with a plunging neckline exposing her cleavage and some simple shorts. It was hot out today which was a first sense Ive been here, I only bought winter like clothes so I was sweating in my long sleeve shirt.
"Just enjoy the ride Tae" she said turning on the air and making the vents face me, I could see tiny goosebumps rising on her thighs.
"I'm fine really" I said reaching to turn it off but she slapped my hand before I could reach it. I laughed a little and then settled back in my seat. "So explain what happened yesterday" I sighed knowing this was what she probably wanted to talk about. "I told you it was a misunderstanding" I was hoping she wouldn't push it like she had with previous information "Were they sent from your family?" I looked over at her a bit surprised. She glanced at me for a second before looking back at the road "How'd you know?" I asked a bit lower than I had anticipated it to come out. "Just a guess, clearly you ran away from home. I just don't know the reason and clearly you don't want to go back for your own reasons. But nonetheless they seem to be really concerned, why don't you just talk to them? Didn't you say your brother wants to come out?"
I thought for a moment and realized I did share that information with her "Why don't you at least let him come and see that you're doing okay for yourself? Maybe that will put everyone at ease"
I nodded "Yeah I suppose that could help" I smiled while looking out the window, Although she basically got everything right she didn't know all the important details and for that I was relieved. "I'm a great listener you know...if you ever need to talk or even just need someone to just listen. I'm here, no judgements" I felt truly touched by her words. It felt nice knowing someone cared enough about me to listen, i really wish I could just let her in and explain to her all my baggage.

Just then Jungkook's words replayed in my head, he was so concerned about her getting messed up...I wonder what he meant by that.
I glanced over at her, she had the windows down now and her hair was swirling in the wind as she sped through the empty road. She truly was breath taking. She looked over at me and smiled the wind blowing her hair around her face, she laughed and tried to push it back as she looked back at the road. We drove a while longer before pulling down another dirt road. "Your not taking me out here to kill me are you?" She laughed and looked at me like I was crazy. "Just need to check on a few things" we rounded the corner and a nice house appeared overlooking the water.
You could feel the blissful aroma in the air as soon as the house came into view. Y/n parked the car and then we were greeted by a dog. Y/n's face lit up as she kissed the old dog up "Where's dad at?" She asked the dog barked and excitedly ran towards the back of the house.
I suddenly felt nervous, why would she take me to her parents house? "You can wait here if you want or you can come with either way is fine" I stood there not sure if I should go or not, I didn't want to intrude on family affairs but I also didn't wanna stand in the burning sun. I debated for another moment and then ran towards the direction y/n and the dog went.

I heard faint voices as I rounded the corner, the backyard was beautiful. The house in general was gorgeous, I would have never guessed for this to be out here. "You must be the stray my daughter took in" y/n laughed and hit the older mans side "Really dad?" He laughed and extended his hand out to me.
I quickly shook it and bowed slightly "Um I'm Taehyung, your daughter has been very kind to me" he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and hugged her slightly "She's too nice most of the time but don't let that fool you she's a huge pain in the ass" they both laughed and I smiled, it was an odd sight for me to see. My father would never be so friendly or casual in front of company. It was only now that I really took a good look at y/n's dad. He looked young but you can see the wisdom in his eyes. They were also doe like and kind just like y/n's, he had no shoes on and was in some swimming shorts.
The energy coming off him seemed inviting and relaxed.
"Well let's go inside, it's to hot out here" I was thankful for his statement and quickly followed the two inside. I looked around at the interior and was equally impressed with the inside as I was the outside "Here Tae" y/n said handing me a drink. I thanked her and sat at the kitchen table, they both sat and looked at his laptop. He seemed to be showing her what he was working on, y/n genuinely seemed interested and excited about what he was talking about. I watched in awe, I had never seen such a good relationship between a child and their father. At least not in person, only in all those dramas I caught my mom watching. It made me hopeful as I watched the two interact.

"So Tae, you look really familiar...what do your parents do?" Panic quickly washed over me as the two looked right at me awaiting my answer
