The night of Weiss' concert finally came and you stood waiting for her backstage. To your ears, her song was beyond beautiful, you even closed your eyes to enjoy it as much as you could. The song itself was a sad reflection of her feelings towards her life and you could even feel her pain through some of her lyrics. It was clear that the song was aimed towards her dad, but knowing him, he was too thick to actually notice.

As bad as he was, you never actually felt hatred towards him. He reminded you too much of your brother, Adam. Both of them were willing to go to extremes for their ideals and loved ones even if it drove them away from him. You slapped your cheeks to wake yourself up from the daze you were left in just in time to see Weiss walk past the curtains. She was sweating a bit so you gave her a towel and some water to cool off.

"Hard part's over, huh?" you grinned at her, hoping to see her smile. "That was a great song, Weiss."

"Thanks, (Y/n), but I think the after party will be the real hurdle. At least I was alone on stage and didn't have to talk to anyone." She frowned as she looked down.

"Heh, being in the spotlight must be nice! I was growing bored back here, all by myself."

She blushed, making her look even cuter. You had to look away before you started laughing.

"You're so cute, Weiss! But don't worry, I wasn't that sad, I was just teasing you."

"You pest!" she punched your shoulder softly and made you chuckle. "Let's go before we give my dad a reason to yell at us."

Now you had to suffer through another party on the sidelines as you and all the other bodyguards watched your boss' enjoy themselves. It didn't feel like a party to honor Beacon as it had been announced. Everyone was their usual stuck-up selves and complained about something that only pampered people would understand. Some women hissed over their dresses being out of season, some drunk guys picked fights with the waiters for taking too long with their next drink or bringing them the wrong thing.

When you saw Weiss again, she was talking to a boy, who was clearly using bad pick-up lines on her. At this point, it just annoyed you, having to see her go through the same thing over and over with the boys like this. At least whenever you used bad pick-up lines on her it was to make her laugh when she stressed. All of a sudden Weiss started shouting at everyone, she was finally letting out all the feelings she had been holding back until now.

You froze up when you saw her successfully summon a creature and it ran towards the woman she was arguing with. Luckily, Ironwood shot it before it could hurt anyone.

"(Y/n)! What're you just standing there for?!" Jacques yelled at you as you saw him standing over her. You ran over and helped her up and he grabbed your arm tightly as he jerked you towards him. "Take Weiss home now! Don't let her out of her room until I get back. Now I need to make sure none of them get the wrong idea and save our reputation." He snarled as threw your arm down before stomping off and started talking everyone down.

"Yes sir, right away." You bowed your head and led Weiss out as quickly as you could.

The whole way back, Weiss didn't say a single word after you got her in the car, but at the same time, she didn't look like she regretted what she did either. You thought she was in the right too so you were glad to see she wasn't beating herself up over it.

"Feel better now that you've let out some steam?" you asked, jokingly.

She didn't say anything as she looked out the window of the car, but she slowly moved her hand over the seat to your (H/c) tail and gripped it tightly, making you yelp and almost jumped out of the seat.

"Your tail is wet from the snow. You should dry it or it won't be soft anymore." She said without even turning to you or changing her expression.

"If you're mad, could you just punch me or something? Grabbing my tail like that is just mean." You whined as reeled back from the pain.

"I'm not mad. Your soft fur always calms me down, that's why I grabbed it. Sorry if I overdid it." She smirked softly, showing some amusement in your reaction.

"I won't force you to say anything, but if you want to talk about it, I'm here."

She slid her hand away from your tail and towards your hand, sliding her fingers between yours without saying anything.

After you and Weiss got back it wasn't long before her dad arrived and went straight to her room to yell at her. Even while waiting in the hall with Whitley, you could hear them arguing and nearly burst in when you heard Weiss go quiet after hearing a slap come from inside.

"I wouldn't go in there if I were you." Whitley grinned at you as he waved his finger.

"And why not? I'm her bodyguard, aren't I?" you spoke up from behind your collar only expressing yourself through your (E/c) eyes. "The least I can do is to tell him that yelling and beating her won't solve anything."

"You're certainly going a bit above the usual work for a bodyguard, aren't you?"

"If there's something you want to say, master Whitley, you can say it. I've known Weiss since we were kids. Of course, I'll be more protective than the other guards you hire or build."

"I know, I actually like that about you, (Y/n). It's only natural to want to protect what you love isn't it?" his smile grew wider as he chuckled.

"I love all members of the Schnee family. You took me in and raised me when I had nothing."

"Please, stop acting like you don't know what I'm talking about. I know you care for us, but you and my sister have a different kind of love don't you?" Your (E/c) eye lit up as he revealed he knew about you and Weiss.

"Please... don't tell your father... I'm used to people hating me. Hell, I hate myself sometimes, but I don't want Weiss to suffer just because of how she feels for me."

"Don't worry, (Y/n). You don't need to beg, I won't say a word." He put a finger over his lips to joke. "I like having you protect us. You're much more competent than anyone else we've ever had. Plus, I meant what I said before, I do think of you as a big brother so I don't want you to be sent away."

"T-thank you." you bowed your head slightly to show him how grateful you were for keeping your secret.

Jacques finally came out and Whitley followed after him. Weiss came out running and started arguing with her brother over what her father had done to her. She stomped back into her room and started pacing in circles.

"One of those nights?" You smiled trying to get her to calm down at least.

"I can't stand him anymore!" she screamed and fell to her knees.

"Weiss!" You ran over, kneeled next to her and held her in your arms.

"I can't! I can't live like this!" she buried her face in your arms and started crying.

"Weiss snap out of it!" you shouted shaking her.

"What the hell, (Y/n)?! I can't even cry anymore?"

"Of course you can and I'll be here for when you do, but you're stronger than this." You looked into her light-blue eyes and held her up. "You're not some fragile little girl, who cries when something bad happens. You're better than this. Now isn't the time for tears. Show me the girl I fell in love with. Hell, you didn't cry when I woke up after my surgery, did you? You yelled at me and threw me in bed so I could finish my recovery."

"Heh, not much for romantic speeches are you?" She chuckled, wiping away her tears.

"You don't need romance! You need someone to help you with that fire in your heart so tell me, what are you going to do instead of sitting here crying and what can I do to help?"

"I'm going to... We're going to get stronger!" Her eyes were clear now and shining with a new light in them, she was done crying and was only waiting for your answer.

"Yeah, we are!" You two smiled at each other and then gave the other a hug as you both reached your decision together and knew what you wanted to do next.
