14. Flirting and Girlfriend?

1K 49 15

"Come on Sky! Just one more" Olly yelled as he coaxed me into taking yet another shot. It was his twenty third birthday and when it was Olly's birthday, he loved to go all out.

"Olly!" I giggled, as he slid the shot my way, cheering as I brought it to my lips and knocked it back, cringing as the alcohol raced down my throat. I shook my head in disgust as I tried to get rid of the harsh taste that now filled my mouth.

Georgia, Olly's girlfriend, laughed loudly as she watched the two of us, sipping on her coke. Georgia was not a drinker, and I couldn't help but feel sorry for her as she had to deal with our drunken state all night.

It had just turned eleven o'clock and the night had just began for us.

"Holy shit." Olly gasped loudly, grabbing me and pointing my body towards the entrance of the bar. My body froze as I watched Luke and his friends walk in, I stared intently waiting for him to notice me. His eyes locked with mine, and a smile formed on his lips as he walked over towards us, "Well, fancy seeing you here." He laughed, pulling me in for a hug. I could tell he was already tipsy as sober Luke would not greet me with a hug.

"Hello Mr Hemmings, I see you and your friends are out for a good time." I giggled as I introduced them to Olly and Georgia, and I greeted Luke's friends, all of them I knew apart from the girl in the back.

"Cathy." She smiled as she pulled me in for a hug, I could feel Luke watching me as I greeted her. I took in her appearance. Dyed lilac hair, nose and lip piercing, and a cute dress. She seemed nice.

"Skylar." I smiled back at her.

Olly seemed to have hit it off with both Calum and Michael as he invited them to join us for a few drinks, causing us to sit at the back of the bar at a large table, each of us yelling loudly over each other.

Ashton and Georgia were having a sober conversation as they were both the designated drivers of each group, Calum and Olly were talking about some football game whilst me and Michael were flirting lightly with one another.

However, despite my flirting with Michael, I couldn't help but notice from the corner of my eye, that Luke had his arm wrapped around Cathy as she laughed into his side. I could feel my stomach drop as I wondered if she was his girlfriend. Had I made out with a man who was already in a relationship?

"So, how come I didn't get a call from you?" Michael asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Honestly, I wasn't that interested, but after speaking to you for a second time, you seem like a really nice guy." I spoke truthfully. That, and the fact Luke didn't like the idea of it.
" Yeah, I am a nice guy, pity you had your chance and you missed out." He smirked crossing his arms as he lent back in his seat.

"Come on Michael! I was clearly out of my mind when I turned you down, I was stupid then, but I can see now how amazing you truly are." I laughed as I pretend to swoon over him. He leant over closer towards me, placing his hand on my knee as lowered himself down to my ear.

"I guess we can get to know each other then, can't we?" He spoke softly into my ear, causing my cheeks to heat up.

"Oi, Mikey, why don't you go get us another round? On me." Luke yelled across the table, a firm look on his face. Rather than looking at Michael as he spoke, he stared intently at me, not breaking eye contact.

"Alright." Michael huffed as he got up from his seat, a sour look on his face as he walked up to the bar, ready to spend at least fifteen minutes waiting on our drinks as the bar was now a lot more busier as the night had progressed.

As Michael had left, I took this as my opportunity to head towards the restroom. It was at the back of the bar which was noticeably a lot quieter than the front. The only people who appeared to be here were a few older people enjoying a quite drink with each other.

I sent them a quick smile as I walked past, I always smiled at people, I liked to spread as much positivity as I can into the world.

Once I had finished my business, I left the girls  restroom, ready to head back to join the rest of the people. But before I had the chance to go and rejoin the group, I was tugged back into the corner, a gasp escaped my lips as I tried to figure out who had just grabbed me.

I instantly relaxed as turned round and I was greeted with a familiar pair of piercing blue eyes. "Luke, what the fuck?" I huffed, not impressed that he had scared me like that.

"What exactly do you think you're doing?" He asked, a frown on his face as he towered over me.

"What do you mean?" I asked, confused as he was the one who pulled me into this corner and was asking me for an explanation on something which I had no idea about.

"With Michael. You think I don't notice the flirting? Is it to make me jealous?" He asked, walking closer towards me, my back was now pressed firmly against the wall as he caged me in, making me feel like the only option I had was to stare up at him.

"He's a cool guy, it's just harmless flirting Luke. And what about Cathy, is she your girlfriend cause I swear to god Luke, if you let me make out with you while you were in a relationship, we're done." I spoke, I don't think I had ever been so serious in my life. There was one thing I could not stand, and that was cheating.

"No, I just recently started seeing her, but I don't think anything is going to come of it." He shrugged.

"So, are you just leading her on?" I asked, feeling sorry for the poor girl, she looked as if she really liked Luke.

"I was actually going to let her know tonight, now if you're done interrogating me, I'd like to tell you to stop flirting with Michael."

"And why's that Luke, tell me why you want me to stop flirting with Michael, and I will." I pushed him to share his feelings with me, Luke was such a closed book.

"Come on Sky, you know why." He stared down at his feet awkwardly.

"No I don't, so tell me." I decided that I would not let it go this time.

"God damn it Skylar!" He yelled, as he looked at me, angry that I was questioning him on a sensitive topic.

"Fine." I shrugged, using my hand to push his chest, allowing me to be freed from the corner in which we were speaking.

"Wait." He spoke softly, grabbing my head not allowing me to walk away.

"Michael, could never make you feel the way I can, don't forget that." He spoke, smirk on his face, pulling me closer to him, one hand on my waist the other on my cheek. He placed a kiss to my lips, before letting go and walking away, leaving me once again alone and dumbfounded by his actions.
