Your POV:
"Here!" I said cheerfully, unlocking the door to my childhood home and letting Edward in. "The place where it all began. It's not much." He looked around, smiling.
"No, it's great." He replied. "I really can't thank you enough."
"No worries. Like I said, it gets lonely around here without my sister, even if she kind of hates me."
"I don't hate you... yet." He joked, causing me to smile at him.
"Oi, watch your tone." I suddenly had a thought. "Ed... you can't use alchemy, right?" He nodded suspiciously, frowning. "Would you get it back if you could?"
"I mean... of course. I loved alchemy." He replied. I sat down at my kitchen table and gestured for him to sit opposite me, and he did so. He looked confused. "Why do you ask?" My smile widened.
"Edward, I must have seen more of truth than you or you'd know this too. But... you know that there are multiple types of alchemy, right?" His frown increased. "Hm, guess not. I use a different type of alchemy, since I come from the west." I explained to him.
"What do you mean? What's all this to me?" He leaned in closer, clearly interested.
"So..." I drew a transmutation circle. "See the subtle differences between the west and up where you came from? What if... you tried to use a circle like mine? They must have different gates, right?" His eyes widened in shock.
"I... i don't know if I can... I don't know if I'm ready." He stuttered. I smiled at him.
"I think you should try it." He took a deep breath and took the pencil from my hand and started drawing a transmutation circle. He closed his eyes and concentrated, eventually slamming his hands onto the table.
And, sure enough, in his hand a spear appeared.
"Wh-whoa..." he whispered. I watched his frown turn into a huge smile. "No way!" He got up in excitement, almost knocking the chair over and staring at the spear. "This is incredible! Amazing! Wow..." he looked up at me in admiration, causing me to blush slightly. "I can't thank you enough. I'm so glad I met you." My cheeks got even more red, and I noticed his were tinted a slight pink too. I smiled.
"Give it a few days. You'll wish you never met me." I joked, causing him to laugh.
"You brought back my alchemy. You're on my good side forever." I laughed.
"You say that now." I joked further, giggling at his enthusiasm.
"I need to practice... this is so great... wow..." he mumbled to himself, staring at the transmuted spear as if he didn't quite believe it. "This is... amazing..."
"Okay, okay, Ed." I said, my quiet giggle turning into a laugh. "Why don't we do some sparring? Y'know, yo get you into the swing of things. What d'ya say?" He looked at me in concern.
"Y/n, I don't know... I don't really fight with girls..." I raised my eyebrows at him.
"Oh, you're scared? I get it. I'm much stronger than you, anyway. You wouldn't stand a chance." A tick appeared on his forehead and I smirked.
"Fine, Y/n. But I'm warning you..."
"Yeah, yeah. You'll crush me, pummel me, all that." I said dismissively, standing up from the table. I walked over to the mantelpiece and picked up a pair of gloves with a transmutation circle on them, and handed them to him. "You're gonna need these, since you need a circle." He took them from me, our hands touching slightly. He blushed a light shade of pink and I smiled at him.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" He asked cautiously, standing up. We started to walk out into the garden to spar.
"What, I can't be nice without having ulterior motives?" I asked him, cocking my head. "It's cool to meet someone like me, I suppose. And I really admire you... for finding a way to get your brother's body back." His cheeks reddened even more.
"Oh-uh-Thanks..." He said, looking away and causing me to laugh slightly.
"One more thing." He looked up curiously and I smirked. "Don't let your guard down." I transmuted a spear and swung at him, and he ducked underneath. I kicked him in the shin and jumped back to avoid his attacks.
"Not bad." He complimented, running towards me and swinging his arm. I ducked under and jumped in the air, tackling him to the floor and transmuting bars around his arms. He broke free and pinned me down, but I kneed him in the stomach and rolled out from under him, pinning him down again. "I'm out of practice." He replied weakly. My grip softened, but he took it as an opportunity to pin me back down. Gotcha."
We both suddenly realised the
position we were in and both rapidly stood up, brushing ourselves off."S-Sorry." Edward stuttered, blushing and looking away.
"Don't worry about it" I replied just as awkwardly, rubbing the back of my head. "Here, let me show you to the guest room, it's getting late." He nodded and I walked him up the stairs to the room, opening the door and gesturing for him to go in. "Your luxury room awaits." He chuckled and smiled at me.
"Thanks again, Y/n. I really owe ya one."
"No biggie. I'll see you tomorrow morning." We looked at each other for a second, and I found I got mesmerised by his golden eyes. I turned and so did he, and we went our separate ways. I heard him shut the door quietly, and I went to my room. As I started drifting to sleep, I couldn't help but think about the golden-eyed boy I'd met that day. He was still on my mind when I shut my eyes and fell asleep.
