The Pen-Pal

On the other side of the city

A group of students were sitting in their classroom, other students sitting around them as they all prepared to pack up for the day, discussing what they might decide to do together for the upcoming weekend when a bird suddenly flew through the open window, startling the class and causing them to panic a bit as the bird itself was fairly big and had sharp looking talons.

"Ah, I wasn't expecting you today" A girl with long brown hair spoke as the bird flew and landed on her desk.

"Miss Honda, you know this bird?" a feminine looking boy asked as he kept his distance from the bird.

"Mmhmm, he belongs to my pen pal, he delivers our letters to each of us" she smiled as she pet the bird gently as he ruffled up his feathers lightly before he ducked his head under his wing and pulled out a rolled up piece of paper from the cylinder strapped to his side.

"Ah, thank you, I'll be sure to write back soon"

The class just watched on as the bird flapped its wings and flew around the room once before flying out of the open window, an orange haired boy just glared after it as it had flown over his head and left a feather in it.

"What kind of bird was that?" a tall blond girl asked as she approached her friend, Tohru.

"Oh, he's a Peregrine Falcon" she smiled sweetly as they just stared at her in shock.

"What's wrong?" she asked them.

"They're dangerous birds Miss Honda..." The feminine boy told her.

"He's not going to hurt me, he been bringing me letters for 6 years now he's not once tried to bite me or scratch me" she smiled gently at her friends.

"Okay, if you say so" He smiled back gently.

At that, the teacher returned and let them all leave the classroom, Tohru and her two 'girl' friends parted ways and she began walking back towards the house which she lived in with them and their older cousin. As they walked, they noticed the falcon preening itself on a branch near the house to which it just stared the two boys down as they passed to enter the house.

"So, what does it say?" the orange haired boy asked as he looked at Tohru.

"Hmm?" she questioned as she looked up at him.

"The letter the bird brought you..." he explained.

"Oh, it says there would be a surprise waiting for me when we got home" she smiled up at him and the grey haired boy as they looked at her.

"What do you mean a..." they began when the door suddenly opened and a man wearing loose robes greeted them at the door.

"Welcome home you three, Tohru, a package came for you today, its sitting on the table in the living room as it was a little troubling to try and take upstairs" he spoke with a smile.

"Ah, thank you Shigure, I'll just put my bag away and then I'll open it" she smiled before she removed her shoes inside then went up to her room as the three young men watched her, the younger two turning to look at their older cousin.

"You didn't try to open it did you?" the grey haired one asked.

"What would make you think that Yuki?" Shigure asked with an innocent look on his face.

"Because it's just like you to do something like that" the orange haired boy mumbled before he went to his own room to put his bag away, removing his shoes in the entryway as he went, Yuki not far behind him.
