Broken Doctors

"Finally!" I exclaim as I set down my last moving box.

"That took forever," My best friend Mallory said.

"Thanks to you it took longer than it should have," I roll my eyes," you brought in like, what one box? Maybe two?"

"Well, Maddie I had to check the place out." She shrugged,"We should go out. I heard there is this bar like right next to the place were gonna work. Its called Harry's or Joe's or something."

"Well let me get changed and then we can go."

"Okay hurry." Mallory pushed me into the bathroom and handed me a bag of some clothes we packed. Around 10 minutes later.  I'm finished getting ready. I put on a maroon mini skirt and a black short sleeve top. I tie up my converse and Mallory practically drags me out the door.

"Okay Mal, remember we have work first thing in the morning and we can not be late."

"Yeah yeah, work blah blah blah. Okay lets have fun and meet cute guys!" Mallory and I walked up to the bar.

"Hi ladies, what can I get ya?" The bartender asks.

"Vodka, I need something to help me get through tonight." I say.

"Rough night?"

"Oh it will be."

"Why's that?"

"My best friend gets a little crazy."

"I feel you, I don't know how my boyfriend deals with me." We laugh,"Never seen you here before."

"Yeah we just moved. Start our new internship at Seattle Grace tomorrow.My sister is a resident"

"I feel like I'll be seeing a lot of you now. All the doctors usually come here after their shifts." He says as I stare out at Mallory on the dance floor. I shake my head and he fills up my vodka glass.

"Thanks."

"By the looks of it you definitely  need it."  Mallory comes rushing over.

"Mads a whole bunch of hot people just walked in. We neeeeeed to meet them," She pulls me up off the bar stool and waltzes over to the group.

"Well hello there," A man with blue eyes and blonde hair smirks at her,"I'm Alex and who might you be?"

"Mallory,"she looks at him dreamily,"and this is my best friend Maddie." I give a shy smile.

"Nice." He puts out his hand for me to shake it. We shake hands and Mallory drags him off. I wonder when my sister will be coming. The door opens and speak of the devil.

"MADDIE!!!" Haili squeals.

"HAILI!!!" I match her enthusiasm. We crash into a hug. We haven't seen each other in about 2 years. She graduated 2 years before me top of her class at Baylor. Since she's older I always looked up to her. Wanted to do everything she did. Be what she was. So when she told me she was become a surgeon and going to college at Baylor I decided to follow. And now here I am graduated from Baylor about to work with my sister at Seattle Grace medical.

"Okay so I have people you need to meet. They're pretty great and already came in a while ago."

"Oh I think Mallory is already over there." I laugh and point to Mal in the big group of people.

"Yup that's them" she smiles, "come on. Let's go over."

"Hold on. I need a drink if I'm gonna get through this without anxiety."

"Stay at Seattle grace long enough and you'll be saying, 'what's social anxiety? Never heard of her' it's crazy" We go over to the bar and I order not one or two but three shots of vodka. Haili orders a fireball. I down my shots and drag her over to Mallory and the group.

"Alex, this is Haili. My sister" I introduce them.

"Yeah, I know who she is." He frowns, "got me in trouble last year when we were interns"

"Oh. Ummm yeah. So I'm gonna go dance. See you later." She does a quick wave and walks off to a group of guys.

HAILIS POV

I walk over to a group of guys and start dancing. Next thing I know one of them comes up behind me and starts grabbing my thighs.

"Hey pretty lady. I'm James. And who might you be."

"Haili." I turn around so we're face to face, "I have a feeling you should come a little closer"

He smirks and starts grinding on me. As I put my arms around James neck he gets jerked back.

"Get off of her."

"Sorry bro. She acted like she wasn't taken."

"I'm not. Go to hell alex. We broke up last year get over it. Yeah I got you in trouble but you almost made me lose my job"

"What's your problem man? I said go!" Alex glares at James. James cautiously turns around and walks away.

"Alex what the fuck is your problem?!" I yell.

"The only person who gets to flirt with you and dance with you is me. I don't like sharing what's mine. And no matter what your always going to be mine." He pulls me closer and whispers in my ear. Not even a second after he turns around, grabs his jacket off a chair and walks out of the bar. I stand there frozen. Last year he said he'd never want me. We were only together for sex. That he could never love a girl like me.

"Haili holy shit." My friend who is also a resident Izzie comes over, "he's never acted like that about anyone" she waves a hand in my face "earth to haili!!"

"Huh, oh sorry. Isn't he something??"

Izzie rolls her eyes and laughs
