"There aren't many places to hide," I laughed, noticing her figure behind the shower curtain.
"I wonder where Cara could be?" I heard her giggle.
"There She is!" She squealed, trying to get past me. I wrapped my arms around her waist and lifted her onto my shoulder.
"Mummy!" She squealed, kicking her legs and hitting my shoulder.
"Is someone ticklish?" I smiled, running my fingers on her sides.
"M-Mummy!" She laughed.
"Let her go!" Ashley laughed, squirting me with her water pistol. I put Cara down and turned to Ashley.
"She's answering the door. A lady is there,"
"I'll go see too. Get a bucket of water ready for Mum,"
"Okay," they giggled. I walked out of the bathroom and towards the front door. I could hear Lilac's voice coming into rage and another woman's. I stood behind her and look at the woman. She had curly blonde hair that sat above her shoulders, her green eyes resembled a calm ocean.
"Addison?" She questioned. Lilac smiled at me softly.
"Addison, this is Vera,"
"You're mother," Lilac whispered. I felt my heart drop. It's not possible.
"It's great to see you-"
"Don't give me that crap," I warned her, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Don't Addison me Vera. Just spit out the reason you're here,"
"I came to apologise-"
"Apologise?" I laughed bitterly.
"For what?" before I could continue I felt water splash all over my back. I turned around to two giggling girls. They weren't supposed to get me wet! They were supposed to get Lilac. I couldn't help but notice Lilac was bone dry and laughing with the girls. She must've told them to get me instead. I'll get her back later.
"Lilac please take the girls for lunch I need to speak with Vera outside alone," I talked stone cold. I looked up into her icy blue eyes and felt myself calming.
"If you need me I'm here," she smiled before guiding the girls away. I closed the front door and stood with Vera. She was a spitting image of me but much older.
"I honestly don't know what to say to you Vera," I sighed, grabbing the bridge of my nose.
"Then let me-"
"Let you speak after you threw me out on the streets when I was what seven or something? What kind of mother and father kick they're only fucking child out?" I laughed, feeling the anger boil inside me. How dare she come here after all this time.
"It wasn't my choice-"
"You're the one who slammed the door in my face!"
"Addison just listen-"
"Listen to what Vera? Because anything you say to me now should've been said when you kicked me out. You should've apologised to me when I'd see you and Francis walking the streets shopping. All you did was look at me and not once did you approach me or let me back in,"
"Circumstances were hard-"
"You kicked me out for no reason! I was the little girl you and dad wanted me to be and all of a sudden I wasn't good enough for you? You treated me like trash. It was like you both got bored of having a daughter and just threw me away,"
