"Let's get you in bed, baby girl," Harry whispered as he took Elle by the shoulders. She was leaning over the sink in silence, tears falling and face bright red. Her knuckles gripped the countertop. She was shaking and Harry's heart shattered at the sight.

He wrapped her jacket tighter around her arms and walked her to his room, shushing her and comforting her the whole way.

"I'm so sorry, Elle-bear, I'm so, so sorry..." he kept repeating, on the edge of tears himself.

She could barely move on her own. He helped her get into the giant king sized bed under the big grey comforter.

He got in next to her and wiped her tears away with his thumb. Rubbing her shoulder, he comforted her. He felt the need to keep soothing her with his touch, to mend her with his affection.

She let out small whimpers and Harry had to physically hold back his tears, "It's all okay, princess, it's okay. You won't ever have to see her again, I swear."

She nodded slightly, "Promise?"

Elle pushed herself against Harry, burying her head into his chest. He was warm. A body. A life she needed to feel alive with, because everything else was telling her otherwise.

"Stay with me until I fall asleep please?" She begged.

He nodded, "Okay, princess."

He watched her like a guardian as her long eyelashes began to flutter shut. Her breathing evened out and he slowly removed himself from the bed, placing the blanket back down.

He gently left, closing the door behind him.

"There you are, I've been looking everywhere for you," Monica caught him in the hallway, "Have you seen Elle? We're about to head out."

Harry walked with her back into the living room, "I actually just put her to bed in my room. I think it's best if she stays the night here, she was really exhausted and she's had a long night. I'll take care of her."

"Oh, Harry you don't have to-"

"I want to."

Monica smiled, "Thank you, love. I'll come get her tomorrow morning, okay?"

Harry nodded and said goodbye, Monica being one of the first of many to start heading out since it was late.

Harry made sure the last person left before he locked the front door and started to clean his house up. He heard footsteps in the living room and wondered if someone was still there before seeing Elle standing there in the light.

"Did everyone leave?" She slurred, clearly still drunk.

Harry nodded.

"Mom too?"

"Yes, you're spending the night here. I wasn't expecting you to wake up," Harry explained.

Elle nodded, looking around, "Can I borrow something to sleep in? My jeans are uncomfortable."

Harry nodded, "Oh, yeah, of course, " he muttered as he quickly made his way to his room. He pulled an old Rolling Stones t-shirt from his closet, "Here."

She lazily took it, "Thanks....turn around or something..."

Harry jumped slightly, "Yeah, right, uh...sorry."

He faced away as she changed into the shirt, getting back under the covers, "Okay...coast is clear," she yawned, "No tiddies here...."

Harry chuckled slightly before reflexively taking his shirt and pants off and started to climb into bed.

He saw Elle there and his heart jumped before he scrambled back out, standing up.

"Goodnight, Elle."

She rolled over to face him, "Where are you going?"

"To sleep on the couch."

Elle looked confused and out of it, "Why not just sleep in bed, it's big enough for both of us...?"

He shook his head, not wanting to admit that he knows he would like it, "I can't."

She snorted, rolling back over, "Why? Because when I'm drunk I try to kiss you?"
