"Come on Cleo- we're going to go play and Janet's house" I spoke enthusiastically as I picked my little sister up, putting her on my hip before grabbing her bag along with my own.

I carried her to my car, strapping her into her car seat before buckling myself up and driving to my best friends house.

As we got there I walked right in, knowing she would be expecting me.

I immediately saw her daughter, Janet playing with toys quietly on the rug.

This immediately woke Cleo up- belting out a loud scream to where I would put her down, letting her run to her friend.

I went into the kitchen, seeing Maddie and her fiancé Derek.

"Hey" Maddie spoke brightly.

"Hi, Cleo is in the living room playing with Janet, this is all of her snacks and games and shit- everything should be here, if not you have a key to my house" I spoke with a smile.

"Everything's going to be fine, stop stressing and go be a surgeon" Maddie rolled her eyes playfully.

"Thank you again" I spoke with a sigh.

"Don't thank me, just remember me when you're rich."

I laughed lightly before kissing Cleo, promising I would see her soon before leaving.

I went to the hospital that I knew would soon be my entire life.

I followed signs to a locker room where many individuals were changing in the open as if this was a normal thing.

I went to an open locker, claiming it as my own and setting my stuff into it.
I changed quickly, trying to not reveal myself anymore than I already had to these people.

I pulled my hair into a quick ponytail before turning, looking at everyone.

I watched people talk, laughter throughout the room before a few people entered, making everyone go almost silent.

Everyone looked to the seven people who entered, no one moving.

It was quite intimidating.

"Doctors, soon to be surgeons" one spoke out, his glare on all of us.

"We are attending's, we are the ones responsible for you, responsible for keeping you alive, while also being responsible to keep the people you're treating alive." He spoke.

"There are sixty two of you in this room. Thirty of you  will drop out from stress. Ten more of you will be kicked out due to annual drug tests. Ten more of you will get pregnant and drop it or get pregnant and get kicked out, that's leaves ten safe. Everyday is a competition, I want to see the best competitors." Another spoke.

"You will have no time for extra curricular activities, no time to birth children, no time to fuck your boyfriends or girlfriends, no time to play- if you don't think this is something you can abide by, don't waste our time- walk out now" one on the far left spoke.

Everyone glanced around at each other.

"Very well"

"Now, one last thing"

"Although this is a competition, there's something that I'm going to set straight. Out of the sixty two people in this room there are only five females that made the cut this year." One in the middle spoke.
"To the fifty seven males who will see these women at their tiredest, their saddest, their weakest- do not let me catch you preying or downgrading these women, because I can and I will kick you out of this program myself." He spoke.

Five women, and I was one of them.

"Is everything understood?" One spoke.

Ranges of "yes" traveled throughout the room while I stayed silent.
