Chapter 11: Twenty Five
It had been four days since I'd switched off the power in the Hellicarrier and I hadn't done it since, thank god. Bruce had been helping me with my control issues and we were making a lot of progress.
We had confirmed that I did have a pretty strong affiliation to technology and metals which caused the technopathy. To help control this, Bruce put a naked light bulb in front of me, it wasn't plugged in, and he asked me to turn it on.
At first, it took me a whole hour of concentration and staring senselessly at a light bulb for it to flicker on. I'd been working at it everyday and now I didn't even have to be in the same room as the bulb for it to switch on. Yesterday, Bruce wanted me to try something more difficult, so he blindfolded and sat me down in front of Tony in his Iron Man suit and told me to boot it up.
And I did it, I didn't even really have to try. I just booted up the suit and sent him flying through the hellicarrier.
That was yesterday, and today, Bruce had decided to give me a break to rest since I'd been pouring everything I had into trying to control my newly found powers.
For my day off, Tony had dropped everything he was working on (literally, he dropped his sPad and messed up the holographic screen) and had used a jet to take me to Miami.
I'd only ever been to Miami once before, and that had been with Clint for a brief holiday during our time off a few months ago.
"What are we going to do?" I asked Tony excitedly while we sat at a cafe.
"Whatever you want to do." He replied reaching over the table and placing his hand over my own. "We could go to South Beach, or the zoo, whatever you want."
"The zoo sounds fun. I've never been." I told him, sipping at my glass of lemonade through a straw. I could feel the sun on my bare shoulders, my white singlet top was loose and matched my ripped jean shorts.
Tony raised his eyebrows, in disbelief. "You've never been to a zoo?"
I nodded, "I never had time. I don't want to go all Michael Jackson on you, but I never really had a childhood."
"Neither did I." Tony admitted, "Child prodigy, and all."
"Smart ass." I smirked,
"Gorgeous." Tony replied quickly.
I frowned, "What?"
Tony smiled and shrugged. "I thought we were stating facts about me."
I shook my head and laughed, the wind blowing through my hair as Tony grabbed my hand, threw a fifty on the table and lead me to his car.

I spent forever staring at the lions in the zoo, they were basking in the sun, in all their glory. The lionesses surrounded the male lion, his main looked thick and silky soft. I held onto the bars and leaned in, watching them, trying to look at the brilliant animals up close. They were so beautiful.
"You weren't kidding." Tony mused from behind me.
"About what?" I asked, not taking my eyes off the lions.
"Never having been to a zoo. I thought you were joking." Tony replied but quickly changed the subject, "The male lion is totally me. All my ladies surrounding me and my awesomeness."
I chuckled and turned around, taking his hand. "You keep telling yourself that."
"I will, actually." He replied, leaning in closer to me.
