I made sure I was well hidden before I tried to calm myself down more.

I needed to think.

I was tired and hurt. I knew that a healing spell would use too much of my energy. What was the point of being healed if I couldn't do anything after that?

I cursed myself once again for being so stupid as to believe that I could do this.

I couldn't.

I can't.

What am I supposed to do?

I glanced back at the battle and winced.

We were being overwhelmed fast.

My eyes scanned the area quickly, searching for Toby.

He swung his hatchet relentlessly, fighting off the Unknown as best as he could. He was alone now and Masky was no where in sight.

I could tell he was getting tired, and I knew I needed to think of something fast.

There's so many of them. If I could take a bunch of them out, then maybe we'd have a chance. Or maybe if I could just weaken all of them or something, we could fight back better.
But how?

I mentally scanned through as many spells as I could think of, stopping when I reached a certain one.

Could this work? It'd weaken the enemy for sure, and maybe even take a bunch of them out. But how do I do it without hurting any of the pastas? ...or without hurting myself?

My thinking was cut off by a loud shout.

It was Toby.

I whipped my head around only to see that he was being cornered (if you could call it that in a forest). One Unknown was in front of him pushing him back and two were at his sides. His only option was to move backwards, but I quickly realized that this was a bad idea.

Another Unknown was closing in on him from behind and I didn't think he noticed.

It was at this point my body began working on its own.

I leapt up, grabbing a knife in each hand, and raced towards Toby.

Some of the others noticed.

"(Y/N)! What are you doing?!"
"Get out of here (Y/N)!"
"Someone do something!"
"I can't!"

Toby noticed too.

"(Y/N)! Go back home! I got this!" He shouted.

His lack of stuttering almost threw me off guard but I kept running towards him, or more specifically, towards the Unknown behind him.

I stabbed the Unknown in front of him in the back and as his body fell, I used it as a step, leaping on top of it and using it as a boost to propel myself at the Unknown behind Toby. I tackled it and stabbed it right in the eye.

This allowed Toby to attack the other two surrounding him.

I removed my knife and quickly stood back up again.

Then, I ran towards the "center" of the battle, at least where I figured the center was.

"Child, what are you doing?!"

In this moment, I remembered that Slender could read minds.

I did my best to fight off the Unknown surrounding me as I thought in my head, hoping Slender would get the message.
