“Wow.”It was all I could utter after what he just told me. I couldn’t believe James did something like that. This changes my perspective towards him, now that I know their past.
“Yeah.” He nodded.
“She must be one hell of a babe to have you and James fight over her.” Knowing this story only fueled my curiosity towards her. “What was she like?”
“Huh?” he looked baffled by my question.
“Maggie.” I clarified. “What was she like?”
“Physically? Or…?” he hesitated.
I know I’m basically torturing myself by asking this question but I want to know. It’ll probably arouse some insecurity inside of me but, who cares? I’ll get over it eventually, I just want to know.
“Both.” I replied.
“Are you sure you want to know?”
“Just answer the question.”
“Okay. Relax.” He chuckled. “She was a blonde, like you. Not that tall, she’s got blue eyes. Curvy. She was...Fit.” He placed an arm around me before continuing. “She was smart and now that I think about it, she’s a miss goody two shoes; always following the rules.” He turned me around to face him; he cupped my face and continued. “I know what you’re thinking and I’ll admit she’s… perfect, she sounds perfect. But she isn’t, she’s nothing compared to you. Do you hear me? You are amazing and she? She’s boring, okay?” he placed a light kiss on my lips. “And besides, I love you.”
All of those insecurities that was starting to build in my head, are now gone. Completely gone! All I could hear are his words, his reassuring words.
“Now turn this frown, upside down.” He pinched my nose.
I placed a light kiss on his lips and a grin spread across his face.
“Good girl.” He said.
“I love you.” I replied.
“I love you more.”
I kissed him again.
“This is the part where you’ll say I love you most.” He said.
“Come on! Just say it.”
“Don’t ruin the moment.” He pouted. “For me, please?” he beamed.
I rolled my eyes at him.
“I love you most.” I said in sarcastic tone.
He gave me an ear to ear smile. “I love you more than most.”
I chuckled. “Who knew you were such a romantic.”
“I blame my Nana. She forced me to watch television drama when I was a kid.”
“Thank you Nana.” I looked up.
“Look! Sunrise.” He beamed.
I looked to where he’s pointing and saw the most amazing view. Sunrise is one of the most amazing views you’ll ever see; the way the sun slowly rises from the clouds, the cold breeze hitting your face, the birds flying up in the sky. It’s absolutely breath-taking.
I can’t believe two weeks flew by that quickly, winter break ends today and tomorrow we’re going back to school. It seems like our vacation has been cut off short.
Instead of staying in bed all day and savoring the moments of waking up late, here I am at the mall, with Andy, helping her find the perfect gift for Reed, a few months ago she was just bitching about how rude and annoying he is.
They became friends after the project on Health, and that friendship turned in to something deeper. I was quite surprised when she told me that they’re dating, she never said anything to me or to anyone and Reed wasn’t at the wedding, Josh was Andy’s date. What even surprised me more is that Andy is Reed’s first girlfriend.
“What do you think about this watch?” she raised it up for me to see. “Do you think he’ll like it?”
“I don’t know, maybe? I don’t know the guy personally Andy, I wouldn’t be much of help to you.” I said. “I still couldn’t believe you guys are dating. How long did you keep it a secret?”
“Long enough for us to clear things out.” She continued to walk.
“Does Josh know?” I inquired.
“Yeah.” She saw a shirt and went towards it. “This?”
“That’ll look good on him.”
“I know right.” She smiled.
“Speaking of Josh, what’s up with you guys? Are you in a fight?” After our trip to the cabin, they’ve been avoiding each other, nobody knows why. I’ve been waiting for the right moment to bring that topic up.
“It’s...” She sighed. “I don’t know. I told him about me and Reed… that night at the cabin, when you we’re all busy by the fireplace and we went to the kitchen.”
I chuckled. “He’s jealous.”
“Josh? Nah... He was mad because I waited that long to tell him. I don’t think he has feelings for me.”
“How sure are you?”
“Very sure. Trust me; he’s in love with Erica.” She replied. “I’ll pay for this, just wait for me here.”
I gave her a thumbs-up as a reply.
I took my phone out and texted Mason to see how he’s doing. I’m glad he’s decided to give his mum a chance.
I wish you were here.
I smiled as I read his reply; it doesn’t have any connection to my question to him, I asked how he was doing.
I’ll come by your house tonight :)
Before I could even type my reply, somebody bumped into me, making me slip my phone. I groaned; this is the 3rd time I dropped my phone.
“Watch it!” I snapped as I picked it up.
“Sorry.” The guy said. I looked up to see a familiar face. Adam, my classmate from calculus.
“Adam… hey.” I greeted.
“Hi, I’m sorry; I wasn’t watching where I’m going.”
“It’s… okay.” I smiled. If it were somebody else I would’ve gone ballistic on them.
“Who’re you here with?”
“A friend,” I gestured towards Andy whose still in line by the cashier.
“Andrea.” He stated. “I know her. She’s dating Reed right?”
That caught my attention.
“You know about them?”
“Believe it or not, he’s my best friend. I believe we’re here for the same reason.” He smiled.
“Buying gifts.” We said in unison then laughed.
“I have to go, or Reed will wander off and find Andrea here.”
He started to walk away then stopped midway and turned around to face me.
“Tomorrow? Same time?” He asked hopefully.
“Sure.” I replied.
