Rachel sat on the bar watching as me, Murph, that Agent Bloom, and Rome chanced our crime scene to make it look like we didn’t kill these men. I looked up at one point to see that Rach was playing with her engagement ring that Murph gave her. “Ya alright Rach,” I asked walking over to where she sat. “Yeah,” she said nodding and looked up at me with a smile, “just thinking about how much everything’s changed from the time I came back to Boston ten years ago to now.” “Aye your life has changed a lot in that time hasn’t it,” I asked and she nodded. “Okay you guys,” Agent Bloom said after a few minutes, “everything’s all set. No one will ever be the wiser of what really happened here.”

“Dolly, Duffy, and Greenly will be with you when you investigate this scene right,” Rachel asked looking over to her as I looked to her trying to figure out what she was getting at. “Yes,” Agent Bloom said nodding. “Why don’t you bring them down to McGinty’s bar tonight when you leave here,” she said smiling, “so we can give them a little surprise. I haven’t seen them since Uncle Paul died and these two haven’t seen them in eight years.” “Aye Rach that’s a good idea,” Murphy said smiling at Rachel as he helped her down off the bar.

“I can do that,” Agent Bloom said smiling, “you four head on out. I’ll be sure to bring the gang over after we’re through here.” “Thanks,” Rachel said smiling as Murphy took her hand and led the way out of the restaurant with me and Rome following behind. We got into Rome’s car and headed back towards the Irish part of South Boston where we came to stop and McGinty’s. “Momma, Daddy,” we heard the little voice of Alectra as she came running up to us when we entered the pub. “Hey Princess,” Murph said bending down and picking up the eight year old as she hugged him tightly. I watched as she then turned to Rachel and hugged her and I put my arms on my hips. “Hey now,” I said looking at her, “I feel left out!”

“Uncle Connor,” she said smiling as Murphy placed her back on her feet and she came running to me where I then picked her up. “Hey Alectra,” Rachel said smiling as she turned around in my arms to look at her mom, “wanna help us surprise a couple of old friends in a bit?” “Yeah,” she said smiling. “Okay but ya have to be quiet when they come in or we can’t surprise them,” I said as I sat her back down on her feet and she nodded up at me. “Okay Uncle Connor,” she said smiling. “Rome,” Rachel said after a few minutes, “seeings as they’ve never meet you with us you can just chill out against the bar while me, Connor, Murph and Alectra hide back behind it waiting.” “Speaking of which I hear em comin’,” Murphy said as we all turned our attention to the door. “Places everyone,” Rach said smiling as we got into position just as the doors to the pub opened.

“What is this,” I heard was sounded like Dolly say after they walked into the bar, “who the fuck are you?!” I looked over smiling with Murph and watched as Rachel tried to keep Alectra quiet while Dolly, Duffy, and Greenly freaked out before we popped up. Rachel and Alectra were sitting between me and Murph, me on Rachel’s right and Murph on her left. Murphy and I had the water hoses to the bar in our hands and when we heard Dolly saying something about arresting him, I looked over at the others and nodded. We jumped up, Rachel holding Alectra on her hip while we sprayed the shit out of the three with the water laughing. “Stop it,” Duffy shouted after Dolly fell, “God damn it!”

I didn’t even realize that Murphy had lit a cigarette until we were finished and I looked over to see Rachel and Alectra were laughing hysterically at the sight before them. “You don’t write,” I said as I watched all their faces, “you don’t fucking call!” “You should be ashamed of yourselves,” Murphy said taking his cigarette out of his mouth. “Get the fuck outta here,” Greenly said as we heard Agent Bloom laughing at them. “You fucking bitch,” Dolly said as he crawled over to her on his knees and hugged her looking like he was gonna cry. “I am mad at you three,” Rachel said placing the girl down on her feet and pointing at the three soaked men, “I haven’t heard a peep from any of you since Uncle Paul’s funeral.”

“Daddy,” I heard Alectra say and hold her hands out to Murphy. He smiled down at her and picked her up and when I looked back out, four heads were turned in our direction. “Yeah we know,” I said nodding as they looked from me, to Rachel, and then to Murphy holding Alectra in his arms. “When did you two find out,” Duffy asked looking from me to Murphy. “About a day or so after we arrived back here,” Murphy said looking down at the little girl in his arms as he made sure not to blow any smoke her way. “Yeah you missed the big news too,” Rachel said smiling as she looked at them. “What,” they all said together. “Murphy and I are now engaged,” she said smiling as she held out her left hand showing the ring Murphy gave her the same night we saw her again.
