"Wait so which one DMed you?" Dana asks me while we wait for our food. It's currently Friday night and for once I don't have to work. We're at my house waiting for our pizza to be delivered and for our other friends to show up. It's a small get together consisting of Dana, Jill, Jill's boyfriend Peter who goes to a different school, Dana's almost girlfriend Zara, and some people Peter knows. My mom is at work again and she said I could have some friends over.
"It was the one in my history class, the dorky one, I think his name is Aaron? He's kind of cute." I shrug, messing with the TV remote trying to find a movie for us to watch.
"So, what did he say? I'm upset it wasn't Harry cause I'd be DTF for that boy and I'm a lesbian." I laugh at her remark, shaking my head. I tell her Aaron just told me hey and he thought I was cute when he saw me in class.
"We brought brownies!" I heard Jill's voice yell and the front door slam shut. Soon as Jill, Peter, and surprisingly, Harry walk through the entryway to the living room. Jill gives both me and Dana a look when she sees us.
"We'll help you in the kitchen with them." Dana announces, which makes me nod. The guys find spots on the couch and floor. Once we make it in the kitchen Dana starts freaking out.
"Bro, what the fuck is he doing here?" Dana's voice is lowered even though she is obviously freaking out.
"I don't know! Peter says they've been friends for years but not once has him mentioned it to me. It's freaky." Jill explains, pulling out the brownies and ice cream. I grab the ice cream and put it in the freezer for later. I put the brownies in the oven to keep the warm. When I turn back around my friends are staring at me.
"What?" I ask them, with an eyebrow raised.
"You haven't said anything yet and he was the one who rudely ran into you without apologizing." Jill says to me with a 'duh' kind of tone to her voice.
"Honestly, I don't care about him or that incident. I'm just trying to graduate here. I actually forgot he ran into me." They both scoff as if I was telling a lie, which I actually wasn't. I don't have time for a boyfriend and it's not like any boys have ever even been interested in me like that. Once they start talking to me they figure out I'm weird and don't like me anymore.
"Whatever. Keep lying to yourself. We should get back out there or they're going to think we're weird." Jill pulls out a pack of sour patch kids and I eye her for hiding them. They're both our favorite candy. I try to steal some on the way back to the couch but she smacks my hand away.
"Hey, we're looking at horror movies, is that okay?" Peter asks me when I find my seat on the floor, leaning against the couch. The guys and Jill took the couch leaving Dana with the chair next to the couch.
"Yeah, I don't care." As soon as I finish talking I hear the front door open and shut again. From Dana's screaming I can tell Zara's here. I sneakily steal Dana's seat while she greets her girlfriend. Everyone greets Zara and hugs her.
"I saw the pizza guy outside so I got it for you guys." She tells us, setting it on the coffee table. I take two slices that have black olives covering them. I sip on my glass of water while my friends continue to argue over the movie we watch.
"Do you have any popcorn, Clem?" Peter asks me and I groan, nodding. He convinces me to make him some.
"Hey, Harry! You should help Clem make it, from what I remember the popcorn is on the top shelf and our girl is only 5'3"." Jill tells Harry and he nods. He hasn't spoken at all since he's gotten here. I glare at my friend when we start walking to the kitchen. The popcorn was actually on the bottom shelf and Jill knows that. We moved it last time she was here because she's shorter than me. I put it in the microwave and start it.
