Rant Of The Day: Cheerleading Is A Sport *part 2*

Now for my favorite cheerleading quotes from a cheerleaders diary:

Wimps lift weights, cheerleaders lift people!

The only difference between us and ball players is we jump, toss, and catch year round.

In any other sport, if you miss the catch all you lose is the ball.

The price of cheer shoes......$75. The price of cheer camp.....$200 The price of winning your first National Competition......priceless!

I run like a girl, jump like a girl, and pop 10 feet into the air like a girl!

I practiced for 20 hours, nailed my stunts, decorated lockers for the team, painted a zillion posters, washed 428 cars, practiced some more, got the student body pumped up at the pep rally, and rode a 1000 miles on the drafty bus...But hey, NO SWEAT! I'm a cheerleader!

If cheerleading is so easy...why can't you pick up any girls?

Cheer Attitude- You mess with me, you mess with the whole squad.

Cheerleaders are the only ones who know how to fly high and reach their goals at the same time.

You may think you're all that, but you can't get anywhere without your squad.

Remember...there is always a little girl in the stands that wants to be just like you, don't disappoint her.

Cheerleaders are a team and there is NO I in TEAM!

Cheer-ability is a talent for deciding something quickly and getting everyone in the stadium doing it.

CHEERLEADER: (n.) An athlete who can jump, kick, toss, catch, stunt, tumble, AND fly...

If football is so spectacular, why does it take cheerleaders to excite the crowd?

"Eat. Sleep. Cheer. Repeat."

*Together we stand, together we fall, all for one and one for all!

*Sometimes there is no next time, no second chance. This is it. It's now or never.

*What you see is what you get, and you ain't seen nothin' yet!

*Hands on your hips, a smile on your lips, spirit in your heart, we're ready to start!

*Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise; risking more than others think is safe; dreaming more than others think is practical and expecting more than others think is possible

*If it's in your heart, it shows in your spirit!

*Seven days without cheerleading makes one weak!

*I don't play the field, I rule the sidelines.

*Now I lay me down to sleep, poms and megaphone at my feet.

*When life begins to shed a tear just perk up and say a cheer.

*Football players have all season to prove themselves...we have 2 minutes and 30 seconds. That's the difference.

*In other sports, if you miss the catch, all you drop is the ball.

*I am a hooker, I have no teeth, I killed my husband with a Christmas wreath. Said who you talking to, who you talking to, who you talking to, UGH! I am a transvestite, and I deal drugs, cause my redneck daddy wouldn't give me hugs. Said who you talking to, who you talking to, who you talking to, UGH! Final thought! Jerry Springer, yeah Jerry! ~Spartan Cheerleaders from SNL

*The refs have always been blind, it's our job to make them deaf.

*There are two types of people in this world, cheerleaders, and those who wish they were

*If cheerleading were easier, they'd call it football.

*Yes I'm a cheerleader, yes I'm an athlete, yes im a girl, gotta problem with that?

*Cheerleading is life, the rest is just details.

*it's not whether you win or loose, it's HOW LOUD YOU CHEER!

*Any Man can hold a girls hand, but it takes the elite to hold their feet!

*This sport isn't about million-dollar contracts or over-priced shoes. It's about Dedication and Determination. My mind is sharp and my body is strong. I may not be the biggest athlete out there, but Nothing is Larger than my Spirit, because... I CAME TO CHEER!

*Simply because you don't run across goalines, slam dunk basketballs, or hit homeruns, dosn't mean you can't change the score!

*Cheer Loud, Cheer Proud!

*If football/basketball is so awesome, why does it take cheerleaders to excite the crowd?

*It takes a little more to make a champion, but it takes A LOT more to make a cheerleader

*Cheerleading is the best, has been the best, always will be the best, end of discussion

*God didn't create everyone to be cheerleaders, only the best

*People who lift weights are whimps, cheerleaders lift people!

*We don't obsess about the rest 'cause WE KNOW we're the BEST

*A cheerleader is a dreamer that never gives up.

*Physical pain never really hurts...it's losing that kills

*The spirit to win and the will to succeed are measured one stunt at a time.

*What doesn't kill me makes me stronger.

*To achieve you must first attempt

*We don't have an attitude... we're just THAT good.

*All women are created equal, then a few become cheerleaders.

*Athlete by nature, cheerleader by choice!

*Eat, Sleep, Cheer (repeat)

*Cheerleader (n.): An ATHLETE who can jump, kick, toss, catch, stunt, tumble and fly.

*Life is short, CHEER HARD.

*The higher the goal, the harder the climb, but taken each day, one step at a time. The goal is accomplished, the dream is attained, and the prizes? The wisdom and strength that are gained.

*The first thing is to love your sport. Never do it to please someone else. It has to be yours.

*I've worked too hard and too long to let anything stand in the way of my goals. I will not let my teammates down, and I will not let myself down.

*The more you sweat in practice, the less you bleed in battle.

*Cheerleading is not an extracurricular activity. It is a sport, a sport of academic discipline.

*Cheer to be heard, stunt to be seen!

*Don't wear your team's colors --- bleed them.

*It's hard to be humble, when you can jump, stunt, and tumble!

*Let the far and the near all unite with a CHEER!

*There’s no substitute for guts, cheerleading is all guts; so there is no substitute.

Golden Rules of Cheerleading

*Cheer every game as though it were your last.

*When all else fails, let your spirit shine through

*Don't eat the megaphone.

*The fans are looking to you, not at you.

*Sportsmanship starts and ends with the cheerleader

*It takes years to build your character...and mere seconds to destroy it.

*Democracy ends at the coach's door.

*Somewhere in the stands is a little girl who wants to be just like you...don't let her down.

*The difference between good and great is a little extra practice.

*Mom doesn't know where your uniform is because she didn't wear it last.

*Ignore stereotypes - - or atleast don't beat someone up over them.

*Keep the cheer in cheerleader
