Master Soo...

Pucca felt herself trembling in the warm summer air as her master—or former master—stared at her with the blankest stare she had ever seen from him. She knew that Soo had done some terrible things in the past, but she never thought she'd see it with her own eyes.

Because Soo always looked at her with affection and generosity in his eyes, she wasn't used to this cold and deadpan expression on his once-was-kind face. Had she angered him that much? She wanted to apologize, but somehow, words refused to slip from her tongue.

"Brise."

Chills began to curl up her spine when she heard her name as a goddess. For four straight years, people around her called her "Pucca" and none of them ever referred to her as her first name. She never expected to hear her true name once again, at least not like this.

Why was Soo here anyway? Couldn't it just be one of her uncles? Why did it have to be him? Judging by the look on his face, he wasn't amused with what she had done. She knew it. She knew that what she did was against the law, but she did it anyway.

Why did she do it? She was so loyal to her master, so loyal to her fellow gods and goddesses. So why did she choose to betray them?

"Brise, you are guilty of breaking the law. The law saying that a goddess and a human must never fall in love with one another."

Soo unintentionally gave her the answer to her question. Yes, that's right. She did it for him. She did it for Garu, because she loved him too much. She was aware of how love could be such a wonderful thing, but could also be exceedingly dangerous.

However, despite being fully aware of that fact, she was willing to take that risk. She was willing to throw everything that she used to have, even if it was something she held very close to her heart. That was how much love she had for Garu.

"This is treason, Brise." Soo spoke. "You know what punishment must await you."

If this was in the past, she could tell him that she didn't have powers to fly up to the heavens and had to spend some time with humans. But it had been four years since the incident.

Lying wasn't going to solve anything. Soo wouldn't believe her if she said that she still didn't get her powers back even after four years. He knew everything. Pucca started to panic. What kind of punishment was Soo planning to give to her anyway? She clenched her fists tightly as beads of sweat trickled down her forehead.

Just then, at that unexpected moment, Soo's cold expression changed into the one that Pucca was used to. A sweet, kind-hearted expression that she always thought she would see on Soo's face. She hadn't seen him like this in such a long time.

"However," Soo spoke. "I would like to give you a second chance."

A second chance? That was definitely something that she never expected, especially from Soo, who was said to never hesitate to do something that he needed to do. She didn't speak, waiting to hear what he had to say about this second chance.

"If you come to Heaven right here, right now, you won't be punished." Soo continued. "You must forget about Garu Akahato, and never come back to Sooga as a human. Forget everything, and leave the village you once knew as your home."

What?

"It's okay. We still have time before he finds out. Once he does, I would no longer be able to do anything both for you and Garu Akahato. Brise, you must come back to Heaven immediately. Disappear from Sooga without a single trace. This is the only way you can be saved."

But they never said that they would never punish Garu for what he had done. ...What he had done? Garu never did anything. He was just an innocent boy that was pushed into the depths of the world's agony. He had nothing to do with Pucca's sins.
