Gellert POV:My mind was blank and I wasn't sure what my next move was going to be. The Acolytes are getting impatient and their endless requests are starting to get on my nerves. It has been 5 years since our rally in Paris and of course we had held many others, just not as important since the ministry have been staying well away. My guess is they're trying to work out how to destroy the pact, but they never will. At first, I was worried, worried that they would be able to figure it out and I would have to fight him. But then I remembered why I made it in the first place, what I had known ever since. You can't destroy it, it's impossible. Therefore I have entire protection from him, and him from me. We can never fight. If we could I know I would be at risk, he is the only person who is my equal, to this day I haven't met a wizard or witch as skilled as Albus was other than myself. If we can't fight, the ministry will try to do it themselves and since I took on at least 30 American ministry workers alone and won in 1927, I'm pretty sure a few British ones will be just as useless.
'Grindelwald?' Queenie called, rushing over to walk beside me.
'Vhat is it Queenie?' I sighed, exhausted.
'There's been word,' She whispered, 'someone saw him in a place called diagon alley, lurking.' We turned the corner and went into my room. I shut the door and enchanted it before turning my attention back to her.
'Do you know vhat he was doing?' I asked, this is the first set of proper information I had acquired on Albus in years. Usually my trackers was give me monthly reports but there wouldn't be anything worth knowing about.
'They said he went into a shop called...I think it was Borgin and Burke's' she struggled to pronounce the words right.
My head shot up, 'that's impossible, he'd never go in there.' I shook my head, remembering the shop I had been to many years ago in diagonal alley, intrigued by its appealing dark artefacts and use of dark magic.
'Well...thats what they saw Mr Grindelwald, I'm only the messenger.' She bowed her head apologetically.
'I'm not mad Queenie...it's just...he vouldn't ever do that.' I was so confused, Albus...going there? I would never of imagined...oh god. 'He's gone there to...' I whispered aloud, realisation washing over me.
'To...what?' Queenie tilted her head.
I walked towards her, 'remember vhat I told you about? The pendant?'
'Of course, you didn't say much about it...only that the ministry have it now.'
I shook my head, 'I lied...it wasn't the ministry, I'm only going to tell this to you Queenie, you mustn't tell anyone. Not any other the others.'
'You have my word.' She smiled. We sat down and there was a small silence before I pieced together what I was going to say.
'That pendant...it's a blood pact, I trust you know what that is?' She nodded, 'vell...I made it with him...Dumbledore.'
'But why would you-'
'Because Queenie, I knew him, he vas my...friend.'
She processed this information before asking, 'what happened?'
'Dumbledore had a...a change of heart.' I sighed, leaning my hand against my head, 'his brother convinced him I was wrong, that the cause was wrong.'
'Why did you make the pact?' She questioned.
'Before his brother made him think differently, he had the same opinions as you and I, in truth...ve planned to do this together.' I admitted.
'As in...you would both be leaders?' She furrowed her brows in confusion.
'Yes, that vas the plan. That was quickly wrecked by his brother.' I rolled my eyes in annoyance, remembering how stupid Aberforth was and probably still is.
'Were you close?' Queenie asked.
I hesitated before nodding, not wanting to say the wrong thing.
'Then why was he in the shop? You seemed surprised.'
'I've been in that shop before, it's a place filled with dark magic, certainly something Dumbledore vouldn't approve of at all...he's the one vith the pact, vith intent to destroy it'
'Then wouldn't that mean you have to fight him? That's good isn't it? Then you can progress with-'
I interrupted her, 'It cannot be destroyed Queenie, it's impossible and besides...even if it could I don't vant to fight him.'
She was silent, treading carefully so to not anger me, 'but...you told the others-'
'The others vouldn't understand...but I know you do Queenie.' I looked into her blue eyes, trying to make her see that I really did understand, more than she knows.
'I do...do you think he won't come back?'
I thought for a moment, 'I don't think so...he can be very stubborn.' I chuckled, looking up to see Queenie staring at me in surprise. I guess she's never seen me act so out of my usual poise before.
'This must of been a long time ago right?'
'1899.' I grinned, 'I was 16.'
'A very long time ago then.' She laughed.
'I'm not that old, only 49.' I defended, adjusting my white hair a little.
Queenie giggled, 'by the time you two see each other you'll be middle aged.'
I grumbled, feeling self conscious all of a sudden, something I'm not well acquainted with. 'He's 51 so I'm not so bad.'
'Wow...are sure you'll be able to fight at that age?' She joked.
'Ve are not going to fight...and I'm much more skilled than any of you anyway, even at this age.' I snapped, making her immediately shut up. 'Queenie...id like you to do something for me, but you have to listen to every vord I say.'
She nodded curiously.
'I need you to break into the school.'
'No-'
'I can get you in, get you some poly juice potion, tell you everything you need to say.'
'Grindelwald-'
'Do this for me Queenie, do this and I guarantee you vill see Jacob again.' I manipulated, i needed to know, I needed more information than my trackers provide.
'Fine...I'll do it.' She said hesitantly.
I smiled menacingly, getting what I wanted yet again, 'my trackers gave me intail that Dumbledore has close friends inside the valls...teachers...they also managed to find out who.' I revealed a flash from the inside of my coat, handing it to her. 'Those are the hairs of a Hogwarts Professor, one close to Dumbledore.'
'Who are they? What do you want me to do?' She asked, desperate to see Jacob again.
'Minerva Mcgonagall'Uh oh...Grindelwald is up to his tricks again.
