Contact

Jack had decided to get Toby a phone, but not to contact him or anything like that. No, Jack just wanted to see what Toby would do with it.

It was a genius plan when he thought of it. Toby didn't remember anything past being seven, but he still learned and changed in that amount of time. Jack just wanted to know, how much did Toby change? What was different? what did he know about? What was he capable of? This could all be answered by giving him a phone. For one, if Toby could use a phone at all then it meant he had one before. Judging by how technical he could get with it, what he could figure out, Jack could see just where Toby was at mentally. And boy, were the results interesting.

Toby was in the livingroom, doing whatever, who knows. The important thing is that he left his phone on Jack's dresser, so now is the time to go through it. It was a simple android, because they're user friendly. It didn't need a phone case because the things are damn near indestructible, and Toby was unusually careful with everything. Jack leaned against his dresser, turning it on, and the first interesting thing that he saw, was that it was locked. This either meant A, Toby had a sense of privacy, or B, he had something specific to hide. It also meant that he could remember his password in the first place. The second thing that Jack noticed was that the wallpaper had changed. The default was a picture of the beach, the sun high in the sky with a clear dock in the background. None of that was there now, it was just a black and grey striped wallpaper. This meant that Toby had to use the keyboard, which meant he could spell, or at least he could spell well enough to look up a wallpaper. It also meant that he knew what a browser was in the first place. So, Toby didnt spend 13 years asleep in his brain, or maybe Jack didn't understand what it meant to switch personalities.

Either way, He got the answers he wanted... but now he was curious as to what Toby's password was. It wasn't a number password, it was a word. Maybe it was a curse, and Toby thought it would be funny? Jack tried putting in 'fuck' 'shit' 'ass' 'damn' , None of them worked ... and then he got an idea.

'Jack'

Nope, that didn't work either. Jack didn't know why, but he felt somewhat smaller now, listening to the sound of Toby walking around in the other room. He still had no idea what Toby was doing, but ... wait a minute. Toby was always talking to that bear, What was it's name again?

'Mori'

No, that didn't work either. Now he had to wait 30 seconds before he could try again. He set Toby's phone down ... maybe he shouldn't unlock it, maybe he should respect Toby's privacy. He hummed ... wait, one more try.

'Peanut'

Jack froze ... it worked. He wanted to laugh so bad, but Toby might hear and wonder what happened. The first thing that caught Jack's eye was Toby's home screen, and the apps he had on it. There were a few games, piano tiles, and animal crossing. That wasn't what was interesting though, what was interesting was the vibrant yellow snapchat logo. Toby has a snapchat. Jack didn't look at it, because he didn't wanna know what Toby could possibly be doing, he wanted to be surprised. That wasn't all though, When Jack went to the contacts, he saw what his own name was in Toby's phone. It took a second to register the name ... great.

Toby had put Jack in as 'Evan'. Jack set the phone down, face down in the same position as it was before. Toby .. Toby knew Jack's other name, but how? Jack tapped his fingers on the dresser for a second as he thought about it... but there was no clear reason. Maybe this was something else, Maybe it was some sort of coincidence. Jack almost wished he had never found this out, because now he just HAD to find a way to ask about it.

He sighed, walking over to his room door, opening it to find Toby staring back at him like a creepy 'children of the corn' type of thing. Jack nearly flinched, but Toby's smile sort of took away the tension. "I made a house-" he said, like it was a casual thing to say. Jack tilted his head, "You made a house?" He asked, stepping out. Toby nodded and Jack followed him into the livingroom, where Toby had made a "house" out of the couch and it's cushions. Jack stared for a second, before grinning as he noticed the flag at the top. Toby was saying something about the chair being really heavy. He was talking from the inside, sounding like he was moving things around. He stuck his head out through what Jack could only think was the doors, lying on the floor, " and it's comfortable somehow-" He said, rolling over onto his back.

Whatever Doubts Jack was having before just melted away, he just wanted to spend the rest of forever with this dweeb.

right after he forgets Toby's browser history.
