"I want Starbucks."
"Let's go get Starbucks, then."
Mitch looks over at Scott, "I don't wanna walk."
"Baby, it's a five minute walk."
"Okay, but I'm lazy."
"Well, now I want Starbucks."
"Fine, let's go." He stands and puts Occhi's harness on, and they leave.
"Let me pay for you."
"Why? You're just losing money. If I pay, you get free coffee."
"Ditto. Scotty, you never let me spoil you."
"You spoil me in other ways, which are way better than coffee."
"You're getting an expensive ass birthday present from me, then."
"That's six months away."
"More time to save up and plan."
"Yeah, you are, too."
"That's why—" Scott stops walking when he looks to the left, making Mitch stop as well.
Scott clears his throat, "Nothing, sorry, I thought I saw someone. It's not them."
"Yeah, it's fine."
"Okay... Should we go to prom this year?"
"It's our last year, we probably should."
"I'm glad we agree."
"Are you wearing a suit or dress?"
"I think a suit. Why? Would I look better in a dress?" Mitch asks quietly.
"You'll look stunning in whatever you wear. I was just curious. It'll be thrown off of you at the end of the night, anyway."
"You sure about that?"
"Yep. You love sex as much as I do, if not more."
"That's... accurate." They get to Starbucks and order their drinks.
"Mitch!" He goes up to get his drink and clenches his jaw, when he sees Connie holding it.
"You work here?"
"Yeah, my rat son got me fired from my school."
"Well, abusing your kid is pretty frowned upon. Especially when you work with children all day."
"How is Scott?"
Mitch rolls his eyes and grabs his coffee, "He's happy, because he legally doesn't have to be in contact with you anymore." He walks away and as soon as he gets back to the table, they call Scott's name.
"I'll get it, I'm already up." Mitch walks back and takes the drink before Connie can say anything again.
"You're welcome. I'll be right back." Mitch goes into the bathroom and stares at the mirror.
"Mitch, long time no see." Mitch jumps at the voice and looks to his left to see Tony.
"Jesus, you're quiet."
"Shouldn't your senses be better now that you're blind?"
"No. Bye, now." Mitch moves to leave, but Tony pushes him backwards and into the wall.
"Where's your dog?"
"With Scott, who's gonna come in here if I'm not back soon."
"That blond barbie that stole you from me?"
"He didn't steal anything."
"Not anymore. I'm Sco—Wait, no—I'm not anyone's. Stop making it sound like I'm a fucking object."
"What do I need to do? I guess I could always follow through with taking your v-card."
Mitch laughs, "Dumbass, you can't take something that's already gone." Tony moves closer and braces his arms against the wall on either side of Mitch's head.
"You aren't in the position to give me sass."
"I'm not s—"
"Are you blind in both eyes?"
"Not anymore, I got one fixed."
"Because your head hit a rock."
"Yeah, when you left me for dead."
"Don't. There's a hard wall right behind you, do you see what I'm getting at?" Mitch's face drops for a second, before he recovers.
"You want to go back to jail?"
"Free place to live."
"You're more of an idiot than any of us thought." Tony grabs the front of Mitch's collar to pull him a few inches from the wall.
"One more smartass remark and it's lights out. Understand?"
Mitch drops his facade and nods, "I-I do."
"Good. Now," He doesn't hear what Tony says, because he sees Scott walk in.
Mitch punches Tony square in the jaw before running out of the bathroom.
They get back to Mitch's house and sit on the couch.
"How's your hand?"
"Hurts like a bitch." Scott gets up and gets an ice pack, "I did what you showed me, didn't I?"
"You did. It's still gonna hurt and bruise, though. Why'd you wait for me to walk in?"
"I needed a witness, so he can't attempt to charge me for assault."
"That's what you were thinking about?"
"Are you okay?" Mitch takes a shaky breath and shakes his head.
He looks up at Scott, "He implied that he'd hit my head against the wall, so I'd be blind again."
"Before that he said he'd take my virginity, like he always used to tell me."
"He's almost two years too late for that."
"That's what I told him. He said if I made another smartass remark, it'd be lights out."
"What can I do?"
"Can I have a hug?" Scott pulls Mitch closer and wraps his arms around him, while Mitch lays his head on the blond's chest.
Scott kisses his head, "You're safe, Mitchy."
