I Can't Hear You [SLIGHT ANGST]

(Okay, so the reader is deaf in this, but I don't really know stuff about deaf people, and I'm too lazy to do research so time to make stuff up. I'm not sure if deaf people can wear hearing aids to hear, but the reader is going to wear them to hear people. This was pretty bad since I have no experience with deaf people, but I tried(Kinda).)

"Stupid class 1A! Tripping on their own feet! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

I fell down. In the lunch room. Shaking.

I accidentally tripped on someone's foot. This is so embarrassing. At least my lunch didn't get all over my uniform like last time...

It's that same blonde boy who always comes up to me and just laughs. That's what I assume at least. He's either laughing or having a panic attack. I wouldn't know.

I'm deaf.

I'm in class 1A. Sure I may be deaf, but that won't stop me from being a hero! My quirk is pretty strong too, loud sounds ring in their ears when I use it. It's really helpful.

It's not like I can't hear people. I have strong hearing aids. That are now in pieces. On the ground.

The blonde from class 1B stepped on them. I don't think he did it on purpose though. That's pretty messed up.

I didn't know what to do. He looked down at me and reached his hand out with a smile. See, I doubt he meant anything.

I went to give him my hand until he held me up a bit, and pushed me back down. This time I landed in my lunch. Guess it is like last time.

I have a spare hearing aid since my mom panics about me losing them. Just one though.

"LOOK AT THIS! DID YOU REALLY THINK I WAS GOING TO HELP SOMEONE FROM THE MIGHTY CLASS 1A?!" he laughed, pointing a finger at me.

I don't want to cry. I don't want to cry. I don't want to cry.

I held my tears in last time, I can do it again.

Mina and Kaminari stepped in front of me, giving me a helping hand while Bakugou grabbed the boy's collar. I don't want any violence-

"Bakugou..! There's no need for that.. it was just a joke.."

He growled and let him go. "Tch. Joke my ass. If he does this shit again, I'll explode him into pieces."

How heroic.

"Thanks for breaking her hearing aids, dumbass." Bakugou walked off. The boy's face made a twist.

His smirk disappeared and turned into a frown. I put my head down and walked off with Mina to the girl's locker room to get changed into a new uniform.

Monoma's POV:

I broke her hearing aids.

I looked down at my feet, small pieces all around my shoe. I really messed up.

I took an interest to (L/N) (Y/N) a while ago. I don't want to admit it, but I admire her.

It's just that she's in class 1A. Why does she have to be in class 1A?

Why do I admire her? She stood up for me four weeks ago. She even complimented my quirk. No one ever really does that.

Yet, she's in class 1A. My ego sometimes gets in the way, and when I try to walk up to her and just talk, it doesn't exactly go that way.

And now I broke her hearing aids.

I knew she was deaf, Kendo informed me two weeks ago.

I would never make fun of her hearing, but maybe I went too far. I'll have to apologize to her.

(Y/N)'s POV:

Mina left me a while ago, I told her I would catch up to her. Now I'm finally alone. I sat down in the empty hall way and stared down at the floor.

Tears rolled down my face. I hate myself. Not only am I deaf, I'm a pushover too. I'm no good. No wonder why my father left me.

"Why am I like this...?"

Can I really be a hero? Am I really cut out for this? That blonde boy got me to cry over something like this. I'm a crybaby.

"I'm a stupid crybaby..."

"You're not."

What?

I turned my head up, wiping the tears off my face. It's that blonde boy. Is he going to make fun of me for crying? Make fun of me for being deaf?

He sat down next to me. "I'm..."

I don't know if he stopped talking, or my hearing aid stopped working.

"I'm...sorry."

I looked up at his face. His face was pink. I just stared up at him. I don't know what to say.

"I'm sorry... I'll give you money for new hearing aids, I promise. I didn't want to hurt you. Just please-"

"Your name..?"

He gave me a confused look.

"Neito Monoma?"

I gave him a small smile. "Don't apologize.. I know you make fun of other people in my class, and call them out.. you can do that to me too."

He looked down. I don't want him to think I'm different from anybody else in my class just because I'm deaf.

"No. You're special. I'm not going to bother you again."

Did I hear him right?

"Special...?"

"Not because you're deaf. Because you're just..."

He wouldn't finish his sentence.

"Just...?"

"Perfect."

I don't know if I'm just hearing things (lol my horrible deaf puns, I'm sorry), but did he just call me perfect?

"I'm not-"

"You are, you're a good person. You not only helped others, but you helped me too."

His hand fell down on mine. "Please forgive me..."

An odd feeling happened in my chest.

I smiled and gave him a hug.

"Would you like to be my friend, Monoma?"

His face grew even redder. He nodded quickly, helping me up right this time.

"I would love to be your friend, (L/N)."
