We were looking through the pantry looking for something we could make without burning the house down. Y/N pulled out a sushi mat, a packet nori and a bag of sushi rice. We gave each other the 'go ahead' smile before sprawling all the ingredients across the table.
"Aren't we forgetting something?" I asked.
"Oh yeah!", she said as she went to the fringe and got out a pepper, a cucumber and an avocado. We'd neither of us had ever made sushi before but we thought we might as well give it a go. We tired to follow a recipe offline but it turned into a more of a pile of rice and vegetables on a plate of seaweed than vegetarian maki but we ate it anyways.
"Not bad for a first try", y/n said while scoffing a spoon full of rice.
"Are you kidding? We're shit chefs", I said as we both laughed. Y/N's hangover had pretty much cleared up and it was getting pretty late so I hugged her good bye and began heading home. It was about a 5 minute walk from y/ns to my place and with just my luck it started raining. I pulled out my phone trying to find a way to pass the time. I had 2 unread messages, one of which was from 'Loser <3' which is what I saved Y/Ns contact under;
hey, thanks for coming over and distracting my from my awful hangover
no problem, it was fun hanging out, don't think we'd be any good at being chefs though
The other message was from Linsey, somehow managed to get her number at the party;
hey dante, it was great seeing you at the party last night, we should hangout more xx
Reading that message made my face blush up. Linsey really wanted to hangout with me? This girl was Miss perfect, every guy wanted to be with her and she wanted to see me?
I couldn't think of what else I could say, I was still in shock that she actually wanted to see me again. I finally reached my house and rushed upstairs after being welcomed home by my parents. I got into my room and shut the door behind me. Suddenly I felt my phone buzzing, I got it out to see what it was and to my surprise it was Linsey! I couldn't believe it, she really wanted to talk to me? Perhaps it was a wrong number? I tried not to over think it and I just answered it. We talked for most of the night. Hours had gone by of just us talking about random things. I don't know how I managed to hold up so long with our embarrassing myself or getting flustered. She makes me so nervous..
sorry for a bizarre, short chapter, i'm just trying to move the story along.
to be continued...
