Every rotation was harder. It was hard to not see her in the halls. No one talked about her anymore. No one.

The first rotation when I got back from Kamino, we buried her. I chose the spot. It was right under the cherry blossom tree. It wasn't a typical Jedi burial, but she wasn't a typical Jedi. I said a few words, and Anakin stood there in silence.

When everyone who attended dispersed, I sat down next to her and leaned back against the tree. There was no grave marker, we decided it best for only specific people to know where she lay, as Anakin thought that would be how she wanted it. I agreed.

"Hey Ahsoka," I said. I felt overwhelmed by the urge to cry. I let myself. I looked out to the sun, where it was fading. It was a beautiful shade of yellow-orange. I smiled.

"Do you remember when we said we would watch the Coruscant sun fade and sit under the cherry blossom trees?" I asked. "We're here now. I miss you and Anakin does too. I'm so sorry. I could have saved you." I pulled my head into my hands and cried.

A figure appeared next to me and when I looked, I saw Ahsoka. She smiled at me. She didn't look charred or burnt; instead she looked like her beautiful self.

"Hey," She said.

"Ahsoka," I breathed.

"It's okay. I'm one with the Force now. You'll join me soon. I'll be waiting. Fight for the Republic, fight for justice."

"I will. I promise." She smiled and faded. I turned and watched the sun fall.

"Even though the sun falls, the hope it shines prevails." I whispered to myself and let myself fall asleep like the sun.
