I lay on my bed, staring up at my ceiling as I blast music through my headphones. Kenzie is on her way. I get lost in my own thoughts.
What is my dad like? If he had known about us would he have been involved in our lives? What if he didn't like me? What if he didnt show up? What if my birth father took one look at me and decided I wasn't worth it. What if he just ditches? What if he turns out to be a jerk? What if he tries to take us from Jess? What if my birth father-
I shake my head. Breathe. Everything will be okay. Right? Calm down. All of these what ifs are doing no body any good. Just calm down. Chill out. Breathe. You remember how to breathe don't you.

"I'm okay. A little nervous with the test and meeting Logan and everything. But I'm okay," I nod.

"I'm home!" Kenzie yells, walking into the kitchen and swinging open the fridge.

Mom and I walk into the kitchen to find my sister getting food out.

"Hey Kenzie are you okay?" My mom asks, opening a cupboard.

Kenzie replies, "Yeah fine. Just a little hungery."

Mom sets some pop tarts on the table.

"So where is Jess?" Kenzie asks.

"He was out looking for you with Luke. They're coming back now." She explains, obviously not believing any of the 'yeah fine. I'm okay' crap my sister is throwing out.

Seeing where my mom was going, I put some chips on a plate. We all walk into the livingroom, my grandmother walks in from the staircase.

"Golden Girls marathon?" My mom suggests.

We all nod in unison plopping on the couch eating the snacks
