OUTSIDE ECHOED WITH laughter and smiles, everything seemed so colorful, fireworks were in the air, and people in this moment looked so happy ignoring all their worries, everything looked so simple. Crystal's emerald green eyes looked through the place with glory, she thought of this simple scene to be so beautiful.
Bucky looked at the brunette with a spark of admiration flashing through his eyes, while she thought of the scene looking so beautiful he thought she looked extremely gorgeous. In fact, he thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever met.
The brunette had muted the conversation the two boys next to her had, she had just decided to stay quiet and enjoy the beautiful view in front of her.
"I don't see what the problem is. You're about to be the last eligible man in New York. You know, there's three and a half million women here." Bucky was speaking to Steve and his words finally caught Crystal's attention making her listening in their conversation.
"Well, I'd settle just for one." Steve said and Crystal smiled at his words.
"Good choice, Steve." Crystal told him as she send a small glare at Bucky who was too caught up looking at two woman across the three.
Once Crystal caught up with what was happening, the smile that was not long ago playing on her face was now changed with sorrow flashing through her eyes.
She felt as if her heart shattered into a million pieces, and was then threw put of a window.
But she was used to it. It was something that would usually happen, the three go out and Bucky gets dates for Steve and him, and Crystal is left at the back.
What would happen if she just left? Would anybody except Steve notice? These were some of the thoughts going through the brunette's head.
Steve looked at his green eyed best friend sadly. Steve had known about the feeling Crystal had for Bucky, it was obvious just by the way the two looked at each other, that they both had feelings for one another. Only a fool wouldn't see it, and that was a perfect description of Bucky and Crystal. They were fools blind enough to not see their feelings for one another.
As the exhibition was about to start, the now five people were walking in a crowded area where the stage was. The two girls, Connie and Bonnie, were all over Bucky and Crystal could feel jealousy take over her.
"Oh, my God! It's starting!" Connie's annoying voice spoke over the crowd causing Crystal to roll her eyes.
The two girls pulled Bucky in front but without anyone noticing he looked at Crystal sadly. Truth was he didn't even want to go on dates with all these girls, but he had thought that Crystal would never return his feelings and he was wrong.
Bucky walked in the front with Connie and Bonnie leaving Steve and Crystal behind as they both shared a small annoyed look.
People started to clap as the announcer spoke up. "Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Howard Stark!"
Howard entered the stage and Crystal started to clap along with the crowd, the raven haired guy walked up to the announcer and gave her a kiss. Crystal's brows shot up and she shared a look with Steve who just shrugged his shoulders.
"I love you, Howard!" A woman yelled over the crowd and Crystal thought, who didn't love him, he was the Howard Stark.
"Ladies and gentlemen, what if I told you that in a few short years, your automobile won't even have to touch the ground at all." Howard addressed the crowd in the World Exposition fair, Crystal listened in closely suddenly becoming very interested.
The female helpers that were on the stage along with Howard removed the wheels of the car that was on the stage.
"Yes. Thanks, Mandy." Howard thanked one of the girls on stage before addressing the crowd again. "With Stark robotic reversion technology, you'll be able to do just that."
Howard turned on a switch and the car started to fly into the air. Crystal watched with amused eyes the view in front of her.
"Holy cow." Bucky spoke up and Crystal nodded.
"Holy cow, indeed." She said, and suddenly the car fell back on the ground and a couple of gasps were heard.
"I did say a few years, didn't I?" Howard joked and the crowd started to clap and laugh. Howard's eyes scanned the room but they stopped once they met Crystal's emerald green eyes. He send her a small wink, which only made the girl blush.
What Crystal didn't know was that Bucky was watching them, and he could feel jealousy rise through him. He clenched his jaw and fist tightly.
Crystal saw Steve leaving and decided to follow him when one of Bucky's dates started to talk to him, it was the perfect escape.
"Hey, Steve, wait up!" She spoke stopping her best friend in his tracks. She quickly catches up to him and asked. "Where are you going?"
"Um," Steve started but Crystal cut him off.
"You're gonna go try for the war again, aren't you?" The brunette questioned and Steve sighed and nodded. "Well, good luck then."
Steve furrowed his brows. "You aren't going to try and stop me?" He asked surprised.
"Do I look like Bucky?" Crystal joked and Steve chuckled slightly and shook his head no.
"I'm gonna get going, tell Bucky if you see him I said goodbye and he better come home soon." Crystal said sadly, she wasn't going to see Bucky for the next couple of months. She shook off her thought and gave Steve a small hug and he returned it.
Crystal had been the only woman in Steve's life that he could talk to, it was because they knew each other since they were young, they were practically family. When Steve's parents died Crystal was there for him and she and her family had helped him out as much as they could.
The emerald green eyed girl spun around on her heel and started to walk out of the World Exhibit fair, but one thought not leaving her mind. Did Bucky even care she had left?
