Chapter 1 ~ Morning Mama

The closet door slowly creaked open as little 2-year-old Tyler peaked out. The monster had come out last night. It tried to kill Teddy and scared poor Tyler to death.

Tyler crawled out of his room, down the stairs and into the living room. He heard his Mama crying. Did the monster hurt her? He crawled into the kitchen to see his Mama crying. In her right hand she held an empty bottled that smelled like the monster and in her left . . . TEDDY!!! :D

Tyler crawled to his feet and took Teddy from his Mama. Then, his Mama looked at him with those eyes. The monster's eyes.

"STAY AWAY FROM ME!" She yelled at him and pushed him over. Tyler looked up at his Mama with tears in his eyes.

'Mama can't be the monster, can she?'

She started crying again and held her head in her hands, "I'm sorry, I never meant to. It's just too much."

There was a knock at the door. Tyler stood and pet his Mama's head before slowly walking to the front door. The door opened before he could get there. He stepped outside, still in his footed pyjamas and grinned up at the man before him.

"Hey there, little one! Come here." The man picked Tyler up, "Did you like my present?" Tyler nodded and held up the bear in his arms.

"Hey, what happened to his arm? No matter, I can fix him. C'mon, let's go home."

"Dada!" Tyler grinned as he spoke for the first time, his Dada grinned at him and walked him to the red car.

His Dada was tall with smooth, dark brown hair and twinkling blue eyes. He wore one of his long, black trench-coats with brown dress pants and blue loafers. His Dada was a very pretty man.

Tyler moved around to help his Dada put him in the carseat. He gave Tyler the bear and kissed his head before getting into the driver's seat.

"You're going to love our house, Tyler. Now, your room isn't as big as the one here but Thea and I have made sure that it's everything you could ever want." He talked to his son as he drove through the city.

"Th-a?" Tyler tried to say the name his Dada had said. Who was that?

He sighed, "Your mother never told you, did she Tyler?" Tyler shook his head and looked at his Dada expectantly.

"Thea is your big sister. I know this may be too much for you to understand now but when you're older you'll understand what's happening." He continued to babble on to his son.

Tyler just sat there and looked out the window at the city he had barely ever seen before. Tall, glass buildings, busy people chatting on their phones, taxis . . . It was exciting. Tyler began bouncy in his seat and clapping. His Dada simply laughed and half-heartedly told his son to calm down.
