Grace stood at my front door patiently waiting for me. I opened my book bag and grabbed my pink key ring and opened the door. I allowed Grace to walk in before me.

Before I could even say anything to her, Grace looked as if she was in her own world. Looking at all the pictures on the wall, touching all my furniture and honestly she looked as if she absorbing all the information about my house as she could.

As she continued to stare at everything in my house, I walked over to the kitchen and poured myself some apple juice before she decided to join me.

"Would you like something to drink?" I asked.

"Can I have an appletini?".

I stared at her wondering what the heck that was before she started laughing.

"You s-should of s-seen your f-face" she managed to say inbetween laughs "But seriously I will take some apple juice please ".

I worked away as she walked back to my living room to make herself comfortable on my leather couch.

I gave her the drink and she drank it faster than I could retract my hand from the cup. I sat beside her waiting for her to relax. I didn't want to start firing questions at her , not because I didn't want to overwhelm her but because I thought she would like to go first and I didn't really know what to say. I was right about her wanting to go first though because she started after a heavy sigh.

"My parents believe that law is the most powerful thing in this world. It creates power and it also enforces it. My grandparents and my great-grandparents were lawyers. Law is in my blood. Its what I must do." She sounded as if she recited that multiple times.

"But its obvious that's not what you want to do" I cutted in before she could start talking again. "So what do you want to do? ".

"I'm not sure but I know I want to help people. Yea sure, lawyers help people but I want to be more hands on I guess."

"What about a doctor? " I suggested

"I have thought about it but I don't know.I want a job I can hide from parents; one where they still believe I'm heading to the court house to help resolve a case and one where I know the day they find out about it, they can be proud of me ".

"Have you ever tried to change to talk to them about changing their minds?"

"I have but they won't listen. They will never change their minds ". She lowered her head to look at her hands in her lap.

"Well I don't know what to say other than it's your life, your decision. You only live once. You can be-" She started laughing before I could even finish my sentence.

"Did you just YOLO me?" She asked

I started laughing too at the realization that I did in fact say yolo.

"But seriously, I understand what you're saying. I can't let my parents control me. Anthony has always been saying something like this but I'm not really one to listen."

"You and Anthony huh?" I asked doing the best of trying to wiggle my eyebrows. She put her head down smiling and I'm 99.9% sure I saw a tint of a blush on her cheeks.

"I have a question for you" she stated.

"Yea what's up?"

"I seen pictures of you, your mom and your twin siblings...but where's your dad ?".

I let a small sigh before forcing a smile "That's another story for another day".
