Sooga Village, like always, was having a peaceful lifestyle in the night. Pucca watched as the villagers chat with each other, smiling and laughing just like any other day. Garu Akahato was at the library again, though he was stuck at the kids section. His father wouldn't allow him to enter the for teens and adults sections.
It was only natural, considering how he was only eight years old. But seeing this wonderful village, Pucca wasn't so sure if the human world really was cruel like Master Soo says. Everyone was looking so happy, and everyone was so kind. How could Pucca believe that such humans could hold such savagery?
Pucca was sitting on the lands of the shrine that was specifically made for her; commonly known to the Sooga villagers as the Brise shrine. This shrine was created ever since the village was created, which was thousands of years ago.
But then, that was when the thunder on the skies began roaring. Usually, to the villagers, this means that Pucca or Brise was mad. That's why, after the thunder ceases, they always give her gifts at her shrine. However, Pucca wasn't mad at all. She didn't understand what made the sunlight turn into a violent thunder.
When the people of Sooga noticed that the thunder was going to be strong, they began rushing inside of their homes. Of course, this may be because some of them have astraphobia, but a thunder is often a sign for a long and powerful rainstorm. Regardless, Pucca continued watching as the sky continued to cry until puddles were created on the ground.
But that was when something nasty and virulent came out from the puddles that the raindrops created. It wasn't just one, but many. Pucca stood up from the ground as she watched the obscurity's presence getting stronger and stronger. That crepescule color couldn't possibly belong to an angel or a god.
Pucca's heart began racing when she found out what these creatures were. One of them was hideous, ghastly being with skin drenched in a pale tone and eyes completely white, but all of them had these sharp wings that an angel wouldn't have. They were demons.
Pucca never came face to face with a demon before, but the appearances of these creatures was way too simiar to the descriptions Soo always described to her. That's one thing, but another thing is that Pucca never battled a demon before.
Calling for help from Heaven would mean that she'd allow this demons to take their time in attacking the village. Only she would be able to stop them now. She mustn't let these demons have their way! She decided that she would protect her beloved village at all costs!
The demons began walking around, trying to break into the houses and get into people's heads. Either that or they're trying to possess them... but Pucca refused to let that happen. Everytime she brought a demon down, they all screamed in horrendous agony and their demonic sreeches echoed in Pucca's ears.
The villagers couldn't see it, though, and they all think of it as a regular rainstorm. In reality, it was much worse than that. Their goddess was fighting multiple demons who are invading the village. And for what purpose?! Pucca didn't know, but their acts of terror made her feel disgusted.
The only abilities she could currently use were the ones she learned during training. However, she didn't really know what these demons were capable of. It's at times like these she wished that Ring-Ring and the other gods and goddesses were around. But she knew that she had to take on these demons alone.
"Not so fast~!"
"Huh?!"
Before she could attack any of the other demons, she felt a stronger presence's arm wrapped around her shoulder. The arm could easily strangle her if it had more force. Looking back, she noticed that it wasn't a demon, but a Devil.
