"Fleshdigger!" Queen Magma cried, shoving Vein vein away to inspect. But it was too late. Blood poured from her wound, and her lifeless body was limp.

Queen Magma whirled around to face Vein. "You . . ." she growled, as fury and outrage developed in her eyes. Then, all of a sudden, she just stopped. She calmly put Fleshdigger's body down, even though her expression seemed tight with sadness. "Now, Vein. It's okay. But, get me another animal, okay?" She said sweetly. "Oh, and let me tell you what animal you must get. Come here."

Vein stayed frozen in fear.

"Well?" Magma said softly.

"No . . . " Vein said. "No-no-no-no-NO! I AM NOT THAT STUPID, YOU PIECE OF KILLING MACHINE!" he roared as hard as he can, before planting a ferocious kick right in her sweet face.

Vein ran away, expecting to see the Queen staring at Fleshdigger. But to his absolute horror, the target-thirsty queen ran after Vien. She was not letting her prey get away that easily.

Vein knew he'd be in danger, but at that point, he didn't want to get his throat slit by Queen Magma's talons. He flared his wings and soared into the sky. He never knew how good it would feel to outstretch his wings for the first time in five years. But that positive thought shattered as he heard Magma's angry roar.

Vein could see the camp, and he knew that too many spears would be flying at him with deadly accuracy. So he decided to fly around the Queen's palace, for nothing was beyond that, other than the continent of Pantala.

He kept flying, knowing that he'd last longer than Magma since he hadn't opened them in a long time. But it sucked, too, because he was not used to the howling winds pulling at him, threatening to smash him into the West Ocean. Water was a BloodWing's weakness, even though the updated scrolls might not say it. That was why they drank lava instead of water.

Anyways, as they continued flying through the vast waters. He knew that he should go back. They would eventually tire and fall into the water.

Vein didn't know how much time passed, but when he looked back, he saw Magma slowing down. He figured they must've flown for about an hour or two. So he did a sharp turn and went wide around Queen Magma. He knew she'd fly straight towards him to intercept his arc, so he went fast and long to throw her off.

It worked.

As he swerved around, Magma seemed to have a burst of energy and shot at him. But she went too fast, as Vein suspected, and she zoomed past Vein, who had a smug smile. As the Queen went past her, she gave an I'm-seriously-going-to-give-you-the-worst-death-I-have-ever-done-to-you-when-I-get-you face.

Vein shot a look that said, "catch me if you can, loser!"

He shot down towards the Isle of Volcanoes, then turned wide around. But that was a mistake; Queen Magma pounced on Vein. Vein just dodged it, but not before she slashed at one of his shoulders. His right shoulder blew into pain, and he lost control of where he was flying. He went down, down, down, as Magma laughed hysterically. He saw a big flat area, and he knew what was ahead of him.

The Abandoned Land.
