This Isn't How It Was Supposed to Be

Not in Control

Drago and Hiccup had their little argument and Drago is starting to get annoyed with his constant nagging and telling him how dragons can be friendly and peaceful creatures so he did what Hiccup feared

"The alpha controls them all" Drago said as he pointed at Toothless and the Alpha focused his gaze on him and trained to gain control

Toothless moaned and whimpered in pain as he tried to fight for control, he shook his head vigorously but it was no use and the Alpha eventually gained control over Toothless

"Whiteness true power over will, and see the danger it can hold" he said as he pointed at Toothless then pointed at Hiccup

The Alpha knew what Drago meant and told Toothless "kill the boy" Toothless looked at Hiccup and started to growl as he backed him into a corner of ice

Up in the air Astrid was flying round on Stormfly with Eret saving dragons and destroying traps, she looked over her shoulder and froze in fear when she saw Toothless snarling at Hiccup and backing him into a corner "Hiccup!" she gasped

"Eret set me down" she said "you got it" he replied and started to descend to the ground they were a few feet up when Astrid jumped and sprinted towards Hiccup as fast as she could

"Come on bud this isn't you, snap out of it" Hiccup yelled trying to bring his dragon back to reality "stop" he shouted holding his hands out defensively

He was being backed closer and closer to the ice and from here onwards it looked like there was no way out, was this how it would end, killed by his best friend "no don't" he pleaded as Toothless opened his mouth

"Hiccup!" Came a voice, he looked at where the voice came from and saw Astrid running towards him with fear in her eyes "Astrid?" he said "NO!" Astrid and Hiccup both screamed in unison as Toothless was ready to fire

"Babe!" Astrid screamed then a huge explosion echoed through the battle field making almost everyone, human and dragon stop fighting for a moment then continued after a while

Hiccup pushed him self up off the ground and rubbed his head, the first thing he saw was Toothless panting lightly with smoke coming out his open jaws, then he looked around as the smoke started to clear and he saw a pile of ice, then he noticed something...it was a hand, not just any hand it was

Astrid's hand

"Astrid?...no!" he gasped as he ran over to the pile of ice, he started to lug the ice out of the way piece by piece, when it was all cleared he saw her face and it was so pale "ASTRID!" he screamed as he pulled her into his arms hugging her

He then noticed the presence of his parents as they ran over "what happened?" Stoick asked as he ran upto his son and when he saw a deadly looking Toothless and limp body in Hiccup's arms it all came clear

He removed his helmet and held Valka's hand "who is that" she asked "that would be...Hiccup's...Girlfriend" he said softly listening to his sons muffled sobs

"Sweet thunder of Thor! this can't happen, not to our Hiccup" Valka said with a single tear sliding down her face

"Please Astrid no...please" Hiccup sobbed as he buried his face into her chest as tears stained the red fabric, his friends gathered round him with sorrow in their eyes as they tried to comfort him

Toothless then came back to reality and saw what was going on, and thought to himself "what have I done" he walked upto Astrid's limp body and nudged her hand hoping for a response

He was pushed away and he looked up to see Hiccup glaring at him "get away from her...go on get outta here...GO!" he screamed, Toothless looked at him with an apologetic face and ran away "it's not his fault Hiccup" Stoick said as he walked upto Hiccup "he was forced to do it...dragons being controlled by bad people, can only do bad things" he said as he watched Toothless fly away

Later in the day Hiccup placed Astrid on the deck if a ship as they prepared for her funeral, a tear dripped on her her cheek and he wiped it away with his thumb then kissed her forehead as he stood up and placed the drapes over her body

He picked up her axe and placed it on top of the blank sheets, all around tears fell as he walked off the ship and was greeted with a hug from his mother, he cried into her shoulder as Stoick and Gobber pushed the ship hard enough so it would go a fair distance but not too far

Hiccup looked back and the tears continued to fall, they all started to walk down to the beach with sobs coming from everyone and tears falling all around their feet

They got to the best spot and Gobber brought Hiccup forward and started the service

"May the Valkyries welcome you and guide you through Odin's great battlefield, may they sing your name with love and fury so that we too might hear it rise again from the depths of Valhalla, for a great woman has fallen...a worrier, a fine dragon rider, a shield maiden, a friend...let Freya's fire open the gates to a new life and live on to watch over us all"

Hiccup set the head of the arrow alight then aimed to the sky and pulled back, then he released and lit up the sky with a flickering orange glow, the others had all lined up and all of them copied Hiccup's actions and fired flaming arrows toward the ship carrying Astrid's body

The ship was soon engulfed in flames giving the night a beautiful glow "I'm sorry Astrid...I never wanted you to get involved in this...I-I'm not as brave as I thought I was and...I'm not the boyfriend you wanted me to be......I Dont know" he said as another tear escaped his eye "i was so afraid of oosing her that......i never thought about her safety, ho-how can I be that caring that loving that selfless that brave....I-I guess you can only try" he sobbed softly

He then clenched his fist and sighed as he reached into a pocket on his armour and pulled out a purple velvet box, he opened it up and inside was a diamond clustered ring "you were going to propose to her?" Stoick said as he walked upto him and placed his hand on his shoulder

"Yeah...I was" he sighed "you could've had that daughter you always wanted" he said Stoick smiled and said "I'll admit, I wasn't too happy when I found out you were dating the most beautiful girl in all of Berk, in honesty I was considering saying no when you asked me permition for you two to date" he said taking Valka's hand

"But!....as soon as I saw you protecting her from all those crazy adventures you used to go on...I knew you'd be a perfect fit for each other" he said "thanks dad" Hiccup said

They all watched the ship burn and sink to the ocean floor and as soon as it was completely gone Hiccup turned to the others "This is not over...a chief protects his own, we're going back to Berk and Drago is going to pay" he said

SO WAT YA THINK

I WAS BOARD SO I THOUGHT WHY NOT RECREATE THE HTTYD2 DEATH SCENE SO I DID BUT KILLED ASTRID INSTEAD SO SORRY FOR IT

SO LET ME KNOW IF U WNNA HAVE A CHAPTER ON THE FIGHT AND IF U DO I WILL POST IT
