Chapter 19 Acceptance

Start from the beginning

"I'll drive," Liam said.

We nodded and got into his truck. He drove quickly, knowing I wanted to see what was going on as soon as possible, and he parked in the grass at my request, just to piss Tristan off. No matter how important the issue is, I will always find a way to piss Tristan off. He has no power over me, so I can do whatever I want to do.

We walked into the pack house, and the first thing I smelled were three new scents. One I recognized.

"What the hell is he doing here?" Liam growled.

"If I knew, I'd tell you," I said.

"Let's go check it out," Brooke said. "And if we need back-up, that's what we got claws for."

We went upstairs to Tristan's office, and Liam pulled me behind him as we reached the door. "Whatever it is, I'm going in first," he said.

I rolled my eyes. "I can take care of myself, Li."

"I know, but that doesn't mean I can't protect you," he said. "Just, do what I say on this one. Please, just this once."

I sighed. "Fine. Brooke, stay with me. If Liam wants to go in first, you're gonna have to be by my side to make sure Liam doesn't do anything."

She nodded. "Let's do this thing."

Liam opened the door, and we walked in. The first thing I saw was Tristan and Tyler. The second thing I saw was Alpha Jackson and Luna Amelia of Midnight Moon pack. This can't be good.

"Uh oh," Brooke said under her breath. "Not good."

"Agreed," I said.

Liam glared at Tyler. "What's he doing here?"

"Liam, pay some respect to our visitors," Tristan scolded. "They're here on buisness."

"What kind of buisness?" Liam asked.

"Buisness that doesn't involve you," Tyler snapped. He looked at me and smiled. "Hi, Hayley."

I glared at him and flipped him off in response. Yes, I still hate him. And yes, I would gladly tell him things he should do to himself without a care in the world. If only there weren't so many damn Alpha's in the room. The power Tristan, Jackson, Amelia, Tyler, and I were radiating was enough to put everyone on edge. Especially me, who has a problem with authority.

"What's going on?" Brooke asked.

"Nothing," Tristan said. "Just something between our two packs."

"That is so important that you had to call us here?" Brooke asked.

I smiled. Yep, she's been around me way to much. She's starting to get my bitchy attitude and my sass. At least she can stand up to an Alpha. That takes guts.

Tristan looked at her, but didn't say anything out of respect for her father. "It's nothing that concerns you."

"Actually, it does," I said, taking the matter into my own hands. "Drew called me and told me to come here and bring Liam and Brooke with me. So I did. Now tell me what's going on, or I'm leaving."

Alpha Jackson looked at me. "Is she always like this?" he asked.

"Upsettingly, yes," Tristan said.

"Not a very good quality of a Luna," he said.

"She'll make a fine Luna," Luna Amelia said. "She stands up for herself. A trait worth respect."

"Still not telling me what's going on," I said. "You have ten seconds to tell me before I walk out that door."
