"Damn, you look like shit." Lonzo spats while taking a seat beside me.

"Thanks, bro." I ironically reply to him.

"Have you tried to apologize?" He asks and I give him the 'Is he stupid?' look.

"Sometimes I don't know if you are this stupid or not," I state while looking at the front. "Why do I apologize when others break my heart?"

"Because you broke her heart first." He shrugs.

"How is she doing?" I wonder staring at him again.

"Do you really want to know?" He answers and I nod. "She is doing good."

"And the guys?" I ask about my friends, who have been ignoring me for the last two weeks.

"Good too, they have already picked their college so it's kinda an emotional vibe around them cause they know they'll be saying goodbye pretty soon." He explains.

"Where are they going too?" My curiosity speaks before me.

"Josh is going to Villanova and Brandon to Duke." He responds. "You already know about Michael and me." He flashes a smile, a sorry one.

"What about her?" I question him.

"Ohio." He simply comments and then we stay in silence because the professor has arrived.

Once the class is over I walk straight to the gym. I've been spending my time there the last couple of weeks so I don't have to face anyone or get into some awkward situations.

I'm so into the loud music on my ears that I didn't notice when someone got inside the gym as well. I frown at D'Angelo's body, what is he doing inside my school?

"Kyle." He smiles sitting next to me but I keep staring at him confused.

"What are you doing here?" I ask him.

"I came to check up on you." He flashes another smile.

"What? Why?"

"Because I know you are not doing so fine." He shrugs.

"Why are you even talking to me? Shouldn't you be with her?" I question him confused as hell.

"I didn't pick sides, two people are hurting here man." He exclaims.

"But." I stop because I have no idea what to tell him.

"Look, getting over someone is hard. You have to pretend you're okay. You have to act like you don't care and above all, you have to erase what you once loved for what no longer is there." He moves his hands all around explaining. "But eventually, you'll get over her and be happy." He ends up with a smile, again. Is this idiot here bragging over his happiness?
