Jeanylice .

School seemed endless as always, but it was the last day of the first semester and the last day before winter break- that was enough to motivate me. If I had a dollar for each time August tried to talk to me today, I'd be one rich ass girl. Y'all should already know why I was ignoring him- Chris. I don't have time to be arguing with a dead person, when Chris picks a fight he doesn't know when to stop, I've learned that about him. We're still waiting for Felix to make his move, Chris is even surprised that it's taking this long. Oh well, the longer the better.

"Wait up Jeany!" August called, running towards me as I exited the school.

"What?"

"You mad at me or sum?"

I shook my head no, "what is it?"

"Well, I'm throwin' a party tonight. I do it every year befa' winta' break." He smiled, "and I was just wonderin' if ya' wanted to come?"

I glanced at Chris and a look of disgust was spread across his face. Suddenly, he nodded his head in approval.

"Sure, what time?"

"Fa' real!?- I mean, really?"

"Thirsty ass." Chris mumbled.

I chuckled, "yeah."

"It starts at 9, I'll text ya all da' details latuh." We hugged goodbye and he planted a kiss on my cheek which Chris wiped off and replaced with one of his.

"Childish."

"You're mine."

I smiled, almost taking hold of his hand when I realized we were in public.

"Come on, let's go." He laughed.

-

"Why are you letting me go?" I questioned as I slipped on my leggings, "you hate his guts- which you still haven't told me why."

"Cause I'm coming with you, duh. You really thought I was gon' let you go by yourself shawty?"

I sucked my teeth. "I coulda guessed that."

"Then why didn't you?"

"Shut up," I laughed. "I have a feeling you gonna start some shit."

"You is right." He grinned, then disappeared.

-

I arrived at August's house and I could barely see anything cause it was filled with people, and marijuana smoke.

"Ya came." He smiled as he walked over to me.

"Yeah." I coughed.

"My bad, we can go outside if ya wanna talk?"

Chris appeared next to him, shaking his head no.

"No it's okay, I'm fine in here."

Chris started walking towards the kitchen which alarmed me.

"Ya good shawty?" August questioned as I stared behind him.

"Yeah," I smiled, "I'm fine just give me a couple of minutes." I walked behind Chris into the kitchen where he knocked a bunch of ciroc bottles off of the island.

"Stop it." I whispered.

"You already knew what was gon' happen, you can't complain now." He laughed.

I face palmed myself making my way to the backdoor. I sat down on the porch as I heard the sound of dishes breaking and things getting thrown around. This boy is too much. I thought to myself. Suddenly, I heard the sound of people screaming and a mob of people came flooding out of the backdoor, causing me to move from the porch. What the fuck did he do now.. I peeked into the window and a fire had erupted in the kitchen.

"No he didn't." I mumbled.

"Oh yes I did." He appeared next to me.

"Chris what the fuck man! You gonna burn this nigga's house down!"

"Hopefully." He laughed, "come on let's go."

"No, leave me alone! You're crazy!"

"You act like I can't follow you. Jeanylice I'm fucking dead, I'm never getting my life back. How many times do I have to keep telling you this? Shut up, stop telling me to leave you alone cause me and you both know it will never happen. Once you find out the truth about August then maybe you'll stop acting like a dumb bitch."

He disappeared, leaving me in the back of August's house- dumbfounded.
