May's POV

My head is throbbing. I try opening my eyes but everything is blurry, only blue and red flashing lights.

Almost like ambulances... Wait what happened?

I can't move my legs or arms, I try looking around.

I see people doing CPR on bodies, yelling at one another. I think I recognize the car... Wait isn't that our car?

"Ma'am... ma'am can you hear me?"

Two guys runs over and hover over me, touching me everywhere... Even though I can't feel anything.

"Ma'am?"

I open my mouth but nothing comes out.

Everything is turning dark again... Last thing I hear is someone screaming...

"No, mom.. Dad.. NOO!"

I start shaking, this can't be happening...

I wake up drenched in sweat. My sister is hovered over me shaking my shoulders.

"You dreamed about it again didn't you?"

Hayley sits up on the edge on my bed.

"yeah" I start crying in my sister's shoulders.

"Everything here reminds me about it."

"I miss them."

"I know, me too, but we have to stay strong... for them."

"For them. .."

"Just think about it, tomorrow we're going away from everything."

"Yeah, I know..."

"Just try go back to sleep, and get through the night, ok"

"I'll try."

"Goodnight"

"Night..."

I stare up at my ceiling. This is going to be one heck of a summer.

***

I can't believe it's my last day at the beach. Me and Hayley are enjoying our last ice-cream on the beach, just embracing the sound of the waves crashing.

Our golden retriever, Dino, splashes around in the water infront of us.

Let me tell you a little about our story before the start of this new one.

My name is May Smith, I'm 18 and I have a 16 year old sister, Hayley.

I'm your typical scateboarding surfer girl.

I have blue eyes and long blond wavey hair and a perfect sun kissed skin.

Not too long ago we were in a car accident that cost the lives off both our parents.

A semi truck crashed into our car one night while we were driving back home from church.

My sister didn't have any serious injuries but I had a major concussion and had to be in the hospital for a long time.

After that our social worker wanted to book us into a orphanage, but my uncle Sam decided to take us in.

Uncle Sam has always been like a father to us and cared a lot about us. When we were little we would alway come visit him for weeks.
