"Thank you for agreeing to meet me.", I said when Liz sat across me.

I asked her to meet me here, at Pop's before the school and I wasn't sure she would actually showed up, but she did.

"What do you want Billy?", she asked annoyed. "Did you call me for this?", she said pulling the letter out of her school bag.

"Yeah, that's one of the reasons.", I looked at my hands on the table.

"You want it back?", she asked. "Here, you can have it. It's not like I need it. I've seen enough.", she said, giving it to me. "Are we done now?", she asked and I just nodded.

She got up, but I stopped her. "Liz...", she turned around.

     "Yes?"

     "Can you...ummm..."

"Don't worry. I won't tell her anything.", she said. "She needs to hear that from you."

     "Thank you.", I smiled.

"But, Billy...All I ever wanted was the truth.", she said. "So I think she deserves to know.", I just nodded and Liz left.

"Betty, can I talk to you for a second?", I heard the voice behind me.

"What are you doing here?", I was just heading to the elevator to bring my mom a luch at her job.

"I saw you walking in, so I decided to talk to you.", we entered the elevator. "There's something I need to tell you."

"And this can't wait?", I rolled my eyes.

     "No."

Suddenly the elevator stopped and the door didn't open. I started pressing buttons, but nothing worked. We were stuck.

I took my phone out of my pocket, but there weren't any service. "Fuck."

"Looks like we'll be trapped here for a while...", Billy had a smirk on his face. "So can we talk now?"

"About what Billy?!", I lost all my patience. "We have nothing to talk about.", I sat on the floor leaning against the elevator wall.

     "About the time...Well you know."

"None of that matters now.", I said.

"Yeah, but...", I cut him off.

"God, Billy! You walked away! Not me, okay? So can we not talk about it?"

"You wanna know the real reason why I walked away?", he sat next to me.

"Can't you see that I'm trying to avoid talking to you because I know what it'll lead to and I don't want that to come.", I said not looking him at all.

"Well I wanna talk about it. We need to talk about it.", he was stubborn.

Suddenly I've lost all my patience. "What do you wanna talk about exactly, Billy?! Maybe the fact that I fell in love with you and then you were gone...and I knew I've lost you.", I turned to him. "Or maybe the fact that I waited and waited, but you never came back.", my voice started shaking. "I needed you and you weren't here."

"Betty, I...", I guess I left him speechless.

I wiped away one tear that accidentally slipped my eye and turned around. I couldn't look at him. He was silent for a moment.

"You should know that back then I didn't want to tell you that I was in love with you. You needed to move on from me...I needed to protect you from me."

"You did a great job with that. Congratulations!", I said ironically. "God you have no idea how much I hate you right now. I'll always hate you."

     "You can't hate me."

     "Don't underestimate me, Billy."

For a longer time we were silent, we could only hear each other breathing.

"Ugh god, you piss me off so much!", I broke the silent.

     "I didn't even do anything."

"Uh, you're breathing are you not?", I said. "Ugh, it's your fault. All of it, everything."

"Ah, so this must be my fault too?", he said ironically.

     "Kiss my ass, Billy."

He suddenly took my face with his hands and pressed his lips to mine. The worst part is that I kissed him back.

"Umm excuse me.", we heard from behind us, and we broke our kiss.

There was an elderly security guard standing there, who probably saw we were stuck and came here to help us. As soon as I saw that man, I realized what I just did and immediately regret it. I took my stuff and ran out of that elevator.

It's short and it's shitty, but I've been really busy with studying. So I promise I'll try to write more often now. Spring break is coming real soon so I'll have more time.
