Sorry for the lack of updates again, btu it was the first day back at school last week and I didn’t have a lot of time what with University applications and my birthday and all that, but I do aim to finish this story this week so I can start writing my new one because I’ve only uploaded like one chapter of that so far xD

My dad’s face fell. The colour rapidly drained from his cheeks until his pallor was analogous to that of paper and he began to shake. He tried to set his hands on the steering wheel, but he couldn’t quite grasp it.

My Uncle Brian had been a total ass, and because of that, Midge was most likely about to get raped; had she not already been. And that was the thing that worried me the most.

As my dad tried to calm himself, trying to start the engine and stop the shaking, I realised that we needed to get there as quick as possible – but then the realisation came to me that I didn’t actually know where there was.

I had no idea where they were, where he was planning to go, or if he had gone already. There were just so many questions. I didn’t know if he was going to kill her, or just severely hurt her.

As my mind began to wander, I kenw that it wasn’t doing Midge any good, and we had to try and find her as best we could – if not, we were gonna have to involve the police. In retrospect, I really wasn’t all that sure why we didn’t do so in the first place.

“Charlotte, you need to think” my dad nodded. “Now, where are they?”

I shook my head. “I really don’t know where they could be” I panicked. “I doubt they’re at the house. There would be people there. I…I really don’t--”

Think” he reiterated over and over again. “Fucking think.”

With that, his voice cracked as he began to worry.

“Just…drive” I whispered. “I’ll think as we’re moving.”

He started the car, still trying to control the shaking as he put it into gear and drove away from the sidewalk, slowly driving out of the neighbourhood.

I sat there, trying to think. The only place that I thought they could be was at the house, but I figured that there’d be people there, and the chances were that he wouldn’t have. But it was all I could think of. He could hardly take her somewhere public, and so the house would have to be the first place we checked.

“The house” I whispered. “I…I don’t exactly know where it is from here, but I could tell you from grandma’s house” I nodded, trying to stay calm. “That’s the only place I can think of for where he may have taken her.”

He nodded. “It’s a start, I suppose.”

I nodded in response – it seemed that we nodded to each other a lot because a lack of words to say, but that time we were so terrified that we couldn’t speak. Every thought we had was about Midge, and it was obviously so from my dad’s facial expressions.

He was scared – terrified. I’d never seen him so bad.

“So,” he began was we made the familiar route to my grandparents’ house. “He did it before?”

“Apparently” I shrugged. “I don’t know if he did…Midge never said so but he did.”

“You talked to him?!”

“Well, yes.”

I can’t believe you even associated yourself with them, I can’t even--”
