Eh, she probably would get a ball to the face regardless. She had the reflexes of a snail.

"Oh, so ready," Gracie said, and we took a seat on the ground to put our gear on. Savannah was still blabbing on and on about how excited she was, just trying to fit in, but I was trying my best to tune her out.

The other girls on the team started pooling in, joining us on the ground. I was more than thankful when Sophie came in and started to talk to us, interrupting the incessant rambling of Savannah. Sophie was the setter on the team, and she was a junior. Ever since she showed up, she became the starting setter, playing all the way around, too because of her 5'11 height.

"So," Sophie started, "I heard about psych and Noah."

"Ugh," I groaned. Of course. "And where did you hear it from? Or better yet, who?"

"Genevieve," she mumbled, and Gracie and I looked at each other, rolling our eyes.

Genevieve Harmon was the other outside hitter on varsity. Unlike me, she hadn't made the team her Freshman year, but she finally worked her way up to varsity. For the past 2 years, it had been the 2 of us competing for the #1 outside spot. Or, really, it was just her competing and failing. She couldn't beat me, and she was also a fake bitch. She pretended to be friends with everyone on the team, but she would go behind our backs and talk shit about everyone.

It didn't surprise me that she was telling people about me and Noah's little... argument.

"And what exactly did she tell you?" I questioned Sophie as I slipped on my ankle braces, beginning to tie them up.

"She said how Noah beat you on the psych test, and then you called him a psychopath," she said, all of which was true so far, "and then you head butted him and sent him to the nurse's office, hoping he would get a concussion."

"Wow," Gracie said, laughing. "That's hilarious!"

"So everything was true until you got to the head butting part, Soph," I said, shaking my head. Right as I said it, Genevieve made her way into the gym. "Speak of the devil."

"I figured as much," Sophie said.

Gracie and I stood up, grabbing a ball to start our warmup, and other girls started to join us, warming up with their partner.

5 minutes until practice starts, and Genevieve isn't even close to ready or warmed up. She is so going to be running lines.

"Are you still angry?" Gracie asked me, throwing the ball my way. I took it and continued the pattern, throwing it back to her.

"About Noah?" I asked, and she nodded. "Oh yeah. I'm looking forward to taking it out on this ball, though."

Gracie rolled her eyes at me. "If you think you're gonna be slamming the ball to the ground when you hit tonight, think again," Gracie said, grinning at me. "I'm so going to dig everything."

Gracie was the libero, which meant that she was the best passer and defender on the entire team. And it was so true. She would pick up nearly every ball in a 10 foot radius of her. Even that description might be putting it lightly.

She was amazing, but I just rolled my eyes at her.

"I'd like to see you try."

I imagine this is Logan when she sees her test score.

ALSO. There was only ONE time that I got a 90% on an AP Psych test. So I would be so FLIPPING HAPPY but at the same time, I'm not a genius trying to go to the Ivy Leagues, you feel?

This was a bit on of an intro to this whole book situation, but get ready for the DRAMA. The TEA. The LOVE. I don't know where I'm going with this.

Byeee, I plan on updating with a new chapter 2-3 times a week, I'm not sure, though. I will try my best to keep updates rolling. PEACE.🥰
