𝐉𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄. There were moments where he thought he had false happiness, but now? Now in his life, he believed that he truly had found something with Natasha. Ever since the two of them had found each other grow closer to each other, he found himself doing things that he hadn't in a while. They were small things, like a smile or joke around with his co-workers.

But he hadn't seen Natasha in a while, seeing as she, as well as the other Avengers, were sent out on a mission. There had been word on the location of Loki's scepter, so the Avengers were being sent out to various HYDRA bases to scout out the location. James had been offered a position on the mission, but he had other things to do, he had other priorities. There were other smaller missions that he could go on and recover from his work as the Executioner.

He needed time after every escapade he had as the Executioner, and it was one of those times. The man was able to throw together smaller missions by the dozen and he knew that that would keep him busy. James was in and out of S.H.I.E.L.D HQ within a few days while Natasha is away. Though he had to admit that he missed her, he wanted to do normal couple things, even though neither of them was normal in the slightest.

Standing in a meeting hall, a file in his hand as he began to study the next mission that he was about to embark on. His brow was quirked as he tried to figure out all of the bits and pieces that he had to work through in order for the mission to go through smoothly. It wasn't like most of the missions he was going on, rather, it was an informative one. Where he was to go out and gather information on one of their partners or resources that S.H.I.E.L.D had. They weren't his favorite of missions to go on, but it was a job that he was willing to do.

Lifting his chin, he found that Nathaniel Hyde and Taryn Nichol were standing in the doorway. Both of them gave James a look, which only made the younger Stark roll his eyes in annoyance.

"Alright, you two, out with it," James spoke to them, and Taryn shrugged her shoulders.

"Oh, James, you're such a sweetheart," Taryn said to him in a teasing tone, before making kissy faces at him. James shook his head as he watched her sit down on the table beside him and she gave him a small smirk. "Can't believe that Ms. Natasha Romanoff was the one person who was able to change our deviant James Stark." She glanced over her shoulder to where Nathaniel was, before back to James. "Never thought a woman would be enough to change you."

"Same could be said about you and Clint Barton," James countered, which made her stick her tongue out. His eyes then flickered over to Nathaniel, who was uncharacteristically quiet. "What do you have to say, Nate? Anything smart?"

The Clairvoyant shrugged his shoulders with a small smirk on his lips, "Only that I saw this coming," Both Taryn and James both booed him as the words had left his lips and Nathaniel shook his head. He nodded his head to the file, wondering what it was that he was being sent out on this time, "What's Fury sending you out on this time?"

"Just an intel based mission," James shrugged. "Nothing too big or too small." He glanced between the two of them, before he continued speaking, closing the file in his hand so he could cross his arms over his chest. "Have you guys heard anything regarding the missions that the Avengers were going on? Or . . . the core few?"

Taryn shook her head, "Nope. All I know is that only a few of us agreed to go. I guess since most of us are agent-based anyway. Which makes sense, seeing a lot of us aren't really super enhanced like Charlotte Rogers and Fawn Galloway," A moment passed as she tried to find the words for what she was about to say next, and then she spoke. "Still no word on Agent Rowan."

"They still haven't located her?" Nathaniel questioned and Taryn shook her head.

It was strange, especially for Nathaniel, as James could tell. The Clairvoyant usually knew what was happening and what happened to others. That was one of the perks of having a Clairvoyant on their side. He was always the first person to know exactly what was happening and when it was going to happen. Taryn and James could tell that he was beating himself up about the fact that he couldn't find Scarlett.

"We'll find her," James nodded his head reassuringly, which only made Nathaniel clench his jaw. The three of them all looked at each other before James looked down at his watch. "I should be going, but all of us can talk later."

James made his way out of the meeting hall and through the series of corridors until he found himself in one of the S.H.I.E.L.D regulated vehicles. He positioned himself behind the driving wheel and he grasped it for a few moments, before starting it up. Occupying himself with yet another mission before he would return to find that the Avengers were home, with nothing that they were expecting to have.
