freeze

That night I lay in bed frozen with fear. I was either to numb to feel or I felt everything at the same time. How did he find us? My first decision was to protect Jess at all costs. I knew something was going to happen, he would catch us some how. After everything we had been through I thought peace was finally near, but how I was so wrong.
Knock knock
I jumped out of my skin at the sound. "Who is it?" I chirped, ready to pounce on my attacker. "It's me, Elodie, can I come in?" I sighed. "Yes" was all I said. I don't want to put her in danger but I cannot push her away. Elodie popped her head around the door slowly walking in cautiously. She was examining me and rightly so, sitting on the edge of my bed she turned to look at me. "How are you feeling?" She whispered. I sat there in disbelief at the world, not knowing what to say or how to spit it out. "I'm sorry" I muttered. Elodie started shaking her head. "After everything you have been through, you are saying sorry, you shouldn't be sorry for anything, I'm sorry for what you have been through and if you by any chance what to talk about it I am here and if not that is okay as well". I softly smiled at her "thank you"I replied. She leaned over pecking me on the cheek. "He can't legally take you because you are old enough anyways", trying to reassure me. I shook my head. "It's the fact that if he takes Jess he knows I would never leave her, that's his plan". I sighed and left Elodie to ramble on, it was cute of her and showed that she did really care about me. I reached my hand out to her, surprising her immediately. We held hands in silence for a while just staring at each other, neither one of us pulling our eyes away. "Will you hold me?" I said after the longest period. Elodie just nodded her head and moved to cuddle me. I felt safe and content, she kissed the top of my head and we lay there until we both fell asleep.

Meanwhile, Clarissa was on the hunt for her daughter but somehow had an inkling as to where she was. She slowly opened my door trying not to make a sound as she couldn't hear us, what surprised her the most was that her own daughter was fast asleep. This was not a usual occurrence to see. Anthony walked behind on his way to their bedroom and stopped. "What are you doing?" He whispered. She waved him over "come and look!". Anthony stumbled over, his eyes widening in disbelief. "I don't believe it, is that our daughter?" He questioned. Clarissa nodded with a wide grin. "We must not mention it, both of their progress has been amazing so far and I am more than happy for them both". They both agreed with each other and decided not to interfere with it.

The next day I woke up to the smell of the sweetest scent. I turned around wondering what it was. Sprawled on the bed was a blonde beauty none other than Elodie. Her chest was rising and falling peacefully, I propped myself up onto my elbows and watched her for a little while until she began to stir. "Are you finished watching me?" Elodie smirked with her eyes still closed. Instantly, I turned bright red. Elodie opened her eyes and pinched my cheeks laughing at my red face. "You're cute when you blush, also good morning" I lay my head on her chest to hide my face but also to have a cuddle. "Good morning, I take it you slept okay" I stated. I could hear her breathing, it was a delight, her heartbeat was my favorite sound. "I did because I was next to you, we have to get up soon for school". I was excited to go to school as I did not really have the opportunity before to really focus on my education.

We lay for another 10 minutes before parting ways and getting ourselves ready. I met Elodie at her car after breakfast and said goodbye to everyone before making our way. I had wondered what the others might say about everything that happened at the club, I prayed it would all be alright. We listened to music and felt the warm sun on our face as she parked the car. Today was a good day and I was happy. I had mostly forgotten about what had happened yesterday but it was still in the back of my mind. He could be waiting any where for us. I went straight to class saying bye to Elodie as we were not in the same one this morning.

Sitting down I saw Annie behind me as usual smirking at me. "what?" I questioned. She suppressed her giggling big time. "Elodie and Megan sitting in a tree", well this was embarrassing, to say the least. I turned around and threw some scrunched up paper at her. "so not funny" I faked being mad at her for like 2 seconds. "you guys are cute though, I approve it" she sympathetically at me. I was hoping no one else in the classroom had heard our conversation as that could prove awkward. Luckily, the day was passing quickly and I headed down the white vacant corridors to lunch. The gang was sat at our usual table like always eating their lunch, it made me smile thinking about how far I had come since starting here. Everything was so right but there was just one thing in the back of my mind that could make it all go wrong. I scanned the table looking for my usual seat when I noticed a blonde girl sat there. She turned her head and I soon realized who it was. Elodie. The girl that meant beyond a comprehensible amount to me. Her striking ocean eyes and a smile you could die for. She looked as if she was looking around for something... or someone. Her eyes caught mine as I stood frozen and she welcomed me into her reality. That was it, it was me, her eyes had stopped wandering once they had met mine.

I strolled quickly over to my seat. "Hey, how's your day been?" she protectively wrapped an arm around me, not caring what anyone thought. I liked that about her. "alright so far you?". We continued making small talk, in that time it felt like no time. Lunch was over and we were once again heading our separate ways. That was okay because I knew I would see her at the end of the day.
