Chapter 24

The days passed by like clockwork, class by class, hour by hour, until Friday came. Up until then, I hadn't thought about anything else except for why my dad would know Sarah's parents. From the looks of it, it looked like they had worked together, but on what? What was so important that he would give up his identity to anyone else? Hell, he never even told me, and I was the one that would have ended up with the powers sooner or later.

The end of day bell rang, jarring me out of my thoughts. I grabbed my bag and headed out of the school and out to the student parking lot. I got to my car and sat in it, not knowing if I really wanted to go to this party tonight. Not really knowing if I wanted to find out more about my dad. Someone knocked on my window, jarring me out of my thoughts again. Unfortunately, it was Ethan.

'Can't this boy take a hint? I obviously don't like him' I thought to myself as I rolled down the window.

"Yes?" I asked, not really caring if I was nice to him or not.

"Out the car," He said, "we're having a rematch. Right here, right now." Then he leaned in real close. "And before you think about using that little circus act of yours, might want to take a look behind you."

I turned around in my seat, and standing behind my car was at least half the school.

"Cmon now Tyler ol' buddy, step on out and fight me again." Ethan taunted.

"No," I said, "I have nothing to prove to you or anyone."

"What, gonna be a pussy now that your Sarah isn't here to back you up?" Ethan tainted some more. I ignored him and tried to roll up my window, but Ethan pulled down on it, not letting it roll up. I reversed direction, rolled the window back down, and just as he was about to say something, I jabbed him in the face with my right fist, and blood sprouted from his nose. I let out a light laugh and sped off as he clutched his nose.
